While at school

you might learn a bit about maturity and misplaced anger. It is not Verizon's fault you live to far from the CO or that there is no RT deployed close to you.

Cable is a completely different technology and has its own set of limitations. You will learn OOL's soon enough if you do any file sharing or other activities they do not approve.

Dont worry about my limitations old man. I get speeds way faster than you do. Plus I dont upload enough for them to cap me. Watch out and give advice for your kids. I dont know you.

More missplaced anger

You seem to be angry at the world! just a note, I have VZ DSL and consistently get 1580/195. (on a 1.5/128 connection!!!) Note the word "consistent". Cable usually fluctuates from 300K down to 2.5 Mb. But I would rather have a consistent download speed all the time. Lucky me being 8400ft from the CO.

that's right lucky you. You live in VA. If you came to live in any City you would understand the +'s of Cable once you live as far away from the CO as I do.

I love bellsouth, i wonder if they would love me back by providing better service. Upping to 3mbit/512k would really make me a happy camper!!!
1.5mbit/256k is so horrible, thought I only manage to average 50k but its not bellsouth fault.
more speed = better even if i don't use it most of the time ^_^

Verizon Maybe Has Bigger Problems

I just got Verizon DSL a couple of days ago. It's been okay, but it varies from 200Kb-1300Kb/sec daily. I had SBC DSL for three years and never had a consistency problem. I got 1100-1300Kb/sec almost all the time (site dependent, of course). But with the DSL service here, it varies greatly. My cable service here never offered more than 400Kb/sec and it cost some $50 a month! I hope this switch to Verizon pays off.
