sympatico's good but not as good as your line

same price for sympatico, was on tech support for a couple hours yesterday trying to get them to fix my connection that timeouts every evening... previously downloaded and uploaded at around 990/80 now that they've "fixed up the problem on their side" 957/323...! amazing upload but i would take your speeds without a thought.

Speed Increase

Rogers has been increasing their speeds in some areas, and for all we know it could be just a test. I myself am now getting 1900/365 (why is everyone faster than me ) and my friend across town is getting 898/100, in other words, his speed hasn't increased,so who knows...enjoy this speed while it lasts...

but that's not necessarily the case...in other speed tests i can get up to 2.7-3.0mbps but when you're actually downloading, it's about 400k

Rogers CLAIMS my line is 3mbps

i live in the glen shields area in Ontario and I've been calling rogers every week this month for a problem that started over a year ago (October 2002) when they decided to do upgrades in my area, they've sent in multiple tickets about it and until last week have finally found something i called them yesterday to see what has been going on and for the first time i got to talk to a 2nd level tech at rogers (wow the first person at rogers with at least part of a brain!!) turns out theres only 12 people on my network yet my speeds are around 311kbps/21kbps they currently believe the problem is caused by someone abusing their bandwidth and still haven't fixed the problem but I'll be calling them every week until it finally is fixed and I'm getting the speeds they claim my line is.. when rogers was shaw i was able to download at 2.3mbytes/sec which was awesome :P but we'll see what happens when and if rogers fixes the current ongoing problem I'll be keeping this updated with every call i make to rogers. on a side note if you ever need GOOD tech support help try and get to talk to a 2nd level tech they don't read from a screen in front of em and have better tools to find out more info than the normal techs

stuck with em and i got a Toshiba PCX2600 modem out of em AND credit for a few months :P speeds up to normal finally sticking with stuff does pay off

Rogers is truly the BEST

I moved from a Rogers territory into a Cogeco area. Due to territory rights, I can only get a few of Rogers' services in Cogeco's territory. Thank goodness I could get some of their services: Rogers' portable internet and Rogers Home Phone. We love Rogers and their reliable and consistent network.

Can't get Rogers Digital TV in my area so have to put up with the poor quality of their ON Demand MPIX and freezing up; incomplete recordings; inaccurate TV guide and the list goes on. ROGERS ROCKS that's all I can say...
