| nope... Charter gives NO GUARANTEES. you get 'up to 2mbps' 'your cap' but by no means is anything guaranteed other than your bill will arrive on time. all residential service is 'best effort'. -- You can never be too rich, too thin or have too much Bandwidth | |

| I agree dvd536. I dropped Charter Pipeline for almost two years because my then 512k connection was only getting about 320 on a good day! After several complaints and being told that the problem would be fixed I said "I was offered a described service for an advertised price. I am paying the price now you provide the service or at least close." The internet service tech told me that "Charter doesn't guarantee anything! If you get 1kbps then we are providing you with your service!" Well that was it for me.
I am back on Charter Pipeline now because it is the only high speed choice in my area. Stinkin monopoly! But things do seem to be a bit better now I am paying the same now for 2MBps as I was for a 512KBps then. And I am getting my advertised speed! | |

| Re: I agree dvd536. Charter has just finished a nationwide upgrade...speed and quality of service is much improved in "most" areas.Still not the best but it beats Bell South "Fast Access".At least in my area BS had 1-1.1 max download, with ping times that made satellite look good.Check in your local area to see if Charter has finished upgrade. They usally give 2 months free to draw past customers who were burned in the past.
