I suppose next you want the tech to configure all the core routing through the www backbone too huh?

geesh..its called DHCP (dynamic hosting client protocol) and you ORDER it when you ORDER your line...techs are there to install the router and hit the road, they shouldnt care what DHCP is (usually done in staging). Unless of course you want to pay 400$ a month for your DSL connection to be able to afford a LAN admin to come to your site...

seriously, do you want the technician to be able to wire your house for dsl or be able to explain how dns entries are resolved and how dhcp works?
wow, what animosity just cause an installation techician that knows about dsl installation ISNT 100% farmiliar with LAN info.
you arent the same person that gets angry when msoft windows reboots itself and the guy that put the pc on your network doesnet know what to do about it do ya?
please also go learn about shared bandwidth. Im guessing that you have tried every other dsl provider and that they ALL provided better speeds? NO they didnt,and you know why? cause its SHARED BANDWIDTH (over the internet), same as you would get over cable, t1, frame etc....
