| welcome to NYC i had RR for a long time. the biggest problem is customer service and tech support. there really isnt any. there are people on the phone and they come to your house but they really have no clue. i had a guy here that had a modem in his hand and that was about the only thing he knew about. Modem here! that's it. it now work. me get new one. you wait. umm, ok! again? i live right near the cable store so i would just take care of everything myself. but if i had to call tech support it was because of a level 3 problem. but they could never help. and they asked stupid questions. and i just stopped calling after awhile. their favorite line is "we dont support that software" a year ago they didnt support windows XP, this year they dont support outlook mail, or netscape 7. or any mail it seems that isnt their web based program. i couldnt retrieve my mail and they wouldnt help me. that was the last straw. i was done. i put up with them sending me the nminda virus via email. i put up with them having no spam blocker, i put up with no service or tech support. but this was it. i switched. last week. i hope your experience is better than mine. some people love it. i have not had any respect for it since day one. for the first time i can browse the internet confidently.
if you grow to hate it as i did.
check out earthlink, its now available in my area of the city and may be in yours and right now they are offering a sign up special or 29 dollars for the first 6 months. made my day. i swear i dont have stock in earthlink, but RR put me through the darkest corners of hell over the past few years i just want to prevent others from going down that road. lol. |
