Too Often

Once a week isn't occasional. I too have this problem. It means that 2 out 7 days you are without internet. I just cancelled mine. The reason I say 2 out 7 days because the fastest way for Comcast to send someone to "toy" around is 2 days. So, if you call them on Monday, it won't be until Wednesday before they can come.

Re: Too Often

Well most of the times outtages are short and no call is needed, but still even an outage of a few minutes a week isn't to great. My modem hasn't been offline for a second in quite a few months (except for the few seconds when I rebooted the modem for the 3mbps upgrade ), that's the way it's supposed to be.

Re: Too Often

It is good that yours only lasts a few minutes. It is not the case with mine. Mine will last forever. So, they have to send people to my place. Think about all of those inconvenient. The last time it happens, I thought it might have to do with my computer since all the modem's lights are on. But, the night before it was working fine. And, I didn't do any changes with my computer. So, I tried using my notebook, and it still didn't work. Then, I took my notebook to the library, and it works. So, I know it has nothing to do with my computer. Yet, the idiot at Comcast told me that I will be charged if they have to send someone to fix it. With all the constant troubles and stinking services, I call it "quit". So, I told the idiot to just cancell my account. And, Dag dag.. to Comcast! If you are willing to go through Comcast's "torture chamber", then go ahead and stay with Comcast. I think it is not healthy psychologically to go through constant "headaches". If you don't know what I am talking about, give it a try. Given enough time, you will know what I am talking about.

Re: Too Often

I already do, I was having problems with losing the connection in July, took them nearly a month to fix it, but they finally did. No one ever came to my place either, I knew it wasn't my problem. Many others in my area were also reporting the same problem, which is how I knew it wasn't my problem, luckily they did fix it finally. But, if you're the only one reporting the problem it' going to be tough, it' takes numbers of complaints for them to get off their asses.

Re: Too Often

The fact of the matter is that everytime they came to my place, they acknowledged the problems are Comcast's issues. If you are happy with Comcast, you can stay with your "merry way" with Comcast. Comcast is just a stinking company in my area. If that is not so in your area, stop singing about Comcast! I am talking about Northern California. I don't care a bit what happen in TX. I write this with the hope that people in Northern California give it a thought before signing their "life" with Comcast!
