Curious

Just out of curiousity which modem did Cox provide you? I know that some people are given the Motorola. When I first signed on in '03 I got a Terayon Docsis. I bought a Motorola SBG900 and have never had a problem with the service. Matter of fact I can not remember a time that the service has ever gone out. I live in Phoenix so maybe it's just the area but it's never been slow or gone out. I can remember an email problem once but that quelled in about an hour.

I have witnessed people with those DCM-200 modems have trouble off and on, but after going with a Motorola SB5100(retail version), or the SB5120(Cox's version) their ongoing problems disappeared. If you keep noticing speed spikes etc., I suggest you give one of the Motorola modems a try. I used the SB5120 before I switched to the Arris TM402P(Telephony version). Good luck.
