| To Be Truly Business Friendly Open a business account. Bitching and moaning about residential broadband when you're using it for business is about asinine.
Having said that, have you tried running a tracert to see where the lag is coming from? The problem might not even be with Charter.

You're positive that you only get 128 up?

Typical download speeds if one lives in the city of San Luis Obispo during the evening. Daytime speeds run between 1925-1980Kbs.

I just came across some reads over in the Charter forum. People are having cows because they're testing 3meg down in MI and some are still at 1.5.

1 edit | Update "Perhaps the DSL CO will be less than 15k feet away and will give Charter a run for the money in terms of speed/price/value. Other than these few odd ramblings, Charter has remained solid for the past few months." Jeeze, "The Saint", where about do you live "over the grade" in Atascadero? There's a SBC RT available in Atascadero for your use-not that it's going to give you Charter speeds by the way. Oh, well, at least your node there isn't overloaded like us folks in the city of S.L.O.
P.S. I have no problems with DNS issues-I use 4.4.4.2 or 4.4.4.3 most of the time-wireless router supplies the rest. Do you use a router where you live? P.P.S. to CORK 1958 Us folks here in San Luis Obispo County have NONE of the major issues affecting Southern California-totally different Level3 access here fortunately.
