High latency

The high latency issues you speak of was not the first time this has happened. I can recall 2 other instances for part of the NC region and sadly, i'm done with them. I'm switching this week to DSL. I have no other broadband alternative here in Hickory, NC.

Update

Charter has fix the routing issues a long time ago. Been rock solid since then. Charter is now rolling out a 10m/1m service to customers. Still wating on it to be released in our area. I will post back with speeds when I do get it.

Re: Update

Yeah I called them to cancel because I recently went with the "edge" from knology. But as I was going to get off the phone with them, they explained that they were soft launching in the area. So as we speak I am running 10 mbps download and 1 mbps upload. It is great. What a surprise.

what a customer

Sir you are picky huh,I have charter also and i am in western n.c i had no ping problem at all and 2.4 meg dsl is great as per it is due to the loop feed away from your ceo. Also any high speed connection is a best effort service.the one thing though i get 5.0/512 speeds for 24.95 a month do you think you can get that price

charter prices

I heard that in the near future charter's coming out with 10mb/s downloads, so the 3mbps and 5mbps packages should go down in price.

I'v got charter as well in Taylors (right next to greer) that I got hooked up over a month ago, and it's been quite good this time around.I'm on a $20/month plan for the first six months then it goes up to the regular price of $42.99 or something like that, but what stinks is I get charged an extra $10 b/c I don't have any other of their services (cable, phone, etc.). I also had to pay one of those %49.99 first time fees for them to "hook up" the house for the first time. I hate junk charges like that, but what are you gonna do?
I also did the broadbandoffers.com free modem thing. got to me super fast and have sent in my rebates...time will tell if I get my money back..
