verizon seems to me a bit schizophrenic.. ordered the service 6-31, was informed the package would arrive 7-7 and be turned on 5 days from the time the package arrived. The westell modem and spyware arrived at my door on 7-3, and just for giggles I plug everything in, install the spyware, and BINGO !! We have ignition ground control !
I'm psyched.. immediately begin downloading linux .ISO's, 650 Mb delivered to my desktop in about an hour, and that's just fine by me, since migrating from 56k and I couldn't even dream of downloading files that big.
Alls well till a few days ago, my speed is chopped in half, I don't think nothing of it, maybe they're having trouble. next day same salami, no worky too goody.. Spend a few minutes navigating their site (never even seen it, I set up the account on a winblos box, watched it work for a minute, then immediately booted into Linux.) I tried visiting the site in Linux but... Verizon doesn't seem to play nice with linux.
I chat with several nice but dim techs, they ping me, do this that an the other, and tell me somethings wrong.. ( Yep, that's why we're talking)
What's wrong? I dunno, gotta send somebody over in a couple days. Couple days goes by, but my speed gets normal in the mean time (1500kb/s down). The field tech calls me this morning, asks if I'm having trouble, I check the modem, it's running good, he says great, lemmee do a few things and I'll call ya in a few minutes.. Few minutes no call, I go outside to look for him or his truck, no-one there no more.
I laff, come inside, check the modem, now it sux.. S.L.O.W It was running great couple minutes ago, what'd he do? back to winblos, do the chat thing, the chatter tells me my line can't handle the package and they had to downgrade it.. »www.geocities.com/xmercurialz/chat2.gif |
