P2P Apps

Well I can't say I disagree with the strategy of blocking frequently used P2P ports. Cable shares bandwith and consistent connections tend to slow it down. I still find it so hard to believe that after all the MPAA\RIAA lawsuits so many broadband users are still ignorant enough to use the default ports. It tends to make it even easier to trace, and much easier to block.

Cox isn't blocking the ports. They are targeting the specific type of traffic P2P generates and then they just drop that traffic. No matter what ports are used the P2P app still won't work.
