Same Experience

Yes- I have Broadvoice and it's worked great with my SPA3000
adapter. I've only had one problem connecting when they were upgrading their website account portal last week. I call Italy and the voice quality is the same as cell phone or better. All local calls and state to state are the same as pots. I also did the byod and unlimited world account and everything is fine.

They wont survive the manadatory 911.

Broadvoice can barely keep their service up, much less comply with this 911 decision from the FCC...

Broadvoice service outage

Have had BV service for 4 mos now, and for the 1st 3 of those it was pretty good (except for some initial setup problems), but for the last month, our service(?) has been awful - now we cannot receive incoming calls at all, and the worst thing is that incoming callers do not go to voicemail but get a recording that says "The number you have reached has been disconnected and is no longer in service". We have called BV about this several times and after long hold times (sometimes 30 min), I get someone who says something like "our engineers are aware of the problem and working 24/7 to get it resolved". Comforting I guess. They also will not issue any credit for service outages, siting their "best-effort policy".
Not a happy camper.

This is the exact problem I have had with Broadvoice. Every company has their problems at one time or another, but the way they have handled it has been nothing short of atrocious. Not crediting back service for ENTIRE DAYS that the service is down, and when I do cancel, they charge $60 to your credit card until you return the box at which time they credit your account. This is fine, except that they charge you $50 in the first place to have the device shipped to you!

Other companies (such as Vonage) send you the device free of charge (including the shipping!). Unless you must use asterisk with your service, I would highly recommend staying away from BroadVoice. There are many alternatives out there that do not produce this level of heartache.

Bah regardless, they are like a 3rd world phone company.
Just not worth the hassle.

And BTW Slice is a huge BV fanboi at voxilla, so take it with a grain of salt.

What ever you say dude, think what you want. I just tell it like it is. I have always been critical of BV and their shortcomings and have always praised them for their accomplishments but by no means am I a fan boy, just a happy customer reporting his experiences.

Broadvoice inbound virtual numbers down

Family had to call on my local number due to my virtual number giving them a fast busy. Number is: 816-278-####.

Hold time for Broadvoice to pickup was 18 minutes. They stated there is an issue with inbound virtual numbers and they are working on it.

Anyone else having issues with inbound numbers giving a fast busy signal?

I have been with Broadvoice for less than one month. I'm not pleased with the service. Last week inbound voice was out, then outbound voice was out. Sent email to tech support and they responded 8 hours later "Please send us detailed information to my problem".

With all the issues people have stated, how do they stay in business?

What ever makes you happy. Think what you want, if you aren’t happy with BV ,or any other provider for that matter, go else ware. No one is forcing you to stay and complain.

Sorry sliceman. I do not believe you for one 30sec-3min interval.

There is no way broadvoice has made such a drastic turn around.

Your review almost seems if your paycheck depends on it.

Help with Xten X-Lite softphone and Broadvoice

Slice,

Any chance you installed the X-Lite softphone on a Mac? I'm having problems getting it set up. Works fine on my PC but the Mac version of X-Lite is a different animal and BV is no help.

Are there VOIP gurus that help other mere mortals sort this stuff out?
