| . When you called to report the problem, did you call regular phone repair or verizon online. In cases like this, people should be calling the regular phone repair office. Simply report your dialtone out of service. When its fixed, the DSL will come back also. I dont know how PA is but in NY, Verizon is supposed to get phone lines repaired within 24 hours. I think they are exempt for Sundays. If you had called Verizon online, that may be a partial reason it took a lot longer than it should have.
It sounds to me that the technician that came said "he couldnt fix it" because the problem was actually in their central office the whole time. I mean, nobody came out after that and it miraculously got fixed right?

We did call the Verizon Phone Repair, because that was where the problem truly lied, in the line itself rather than the DSL service.

True the problem was not on our property, it was somewhere else (who knows where), but he did go to where the problem was and couldn't fix it. He never did show up at our house.
In addition, something I failed to mention was that while we were away on vacation, many of our neighbors lost their service as well, but was restored within several days. Apparently if verizon knows an entire area goes out, they only fix the lines of the customers that call to complain about not having service, not the entire area.

| Re: . Ah, you were involved in a cable failure. The repair tech that initially came doesnt fix that. They more than likely had to send out their splicing or construction crew afterwards. What you say isnt true. When they repair a cable, they usually fix most or all phone lines involved. Sometimes a couple lines can fall through the cracks and get missed. | |

That may be so, but that's still no excuse for at least 10 unreturned phone calls, techs missing service calls, and a lack of compensation.
