McAfee offers from Comcast

My homepage is comcast.net and today I saw an offer from Comcast to install McAfee at no additional cost. I had so much trouble trying to install it that I called Comcast for technical support. The techician advised me that they did NOT support third party vendors. I had to make her visit the page and view the offer. The tech. even went so far as to say she asked her supervisior and she was told the same thing regarding third party support for McAfee or any other program. I had to teach Comcast that they did indeed support McAfee. She visited the page and sounded like she had egg all over her face. Then she gave me a phone number to reach McAfee (877 886-8380) and said that somewhere on McAfee's site was a statement that they were totally responsabe to Comcast users that want to use their virus scan.

OMG has Comcast reached the bottom of the pits. McAfee Virus scan???? That has to be the Garbage virus scan ever. It hogs all the resources, and is constantly scanning, not monitoring. Final opinion is: If it is given away for free it must not be worth charging for.:(

I have to agree

I had nothing but problems when I installed McAfee on my computer; as a result, I switched to Zone Alarm and havent had any problems since. IMO, one should abandon any software that hogs computer resources for long periods of time.
