be careful i dropped them..

I had outage after outage. Sometimes they would be out for a complete day. At first it was an antenna issue, then it because a backbone provider issue. with in 2 months i had 5 outages, 2 of them consisted of complete days. My business heavily relies on the internet, so those outages costed my company a heavy sum. We ended up switching to a standard T1

I hope that things have changed because we can't justify the cost of a T1. So far it's been pretty good. We're using VZ's DNS because theirs seems a bit flakey at times but the connection itself has been good....so far

Re: be careful i dropped them..

Good luck, Oliphant. Seriously. My experience mirrors ValuePac's. The company I work for has had them in one of their branch offices in Oxnard for a couple years now, and it's just been two years of total broadband misery. If I get on the phone with their tech support and submit logs of how inconsistently their service is operating, they JUST MIGHT get it to work for a couple days, but it always erodes back to crap. I'd barely consider it acceptable for a home broadband connection, it's laughable how they claim that it makes for a T1 replacement.

Tech support is responsive and courteous ... but they just can't seem to get it to work right. Like you, our office's use just doesn't warrant the cost of a T1.

NextWeb

I have also been a NextWeb customer for nearly a year now. No known outages and excellent performance. Some concern about the coming merger with Covad, but will have to wait and see.
