| Cox HSI Reading the Cox HSI review by azsilvertip, I wonder if there aren't 2 different Cox and Qwest companies in the Phoenix area. I have had nothing but good from Cox. Their phone help has ALWAYS been helpful and knowledgeable. Had a NIC die a year or so ago. Called tech support and after they ran tests, determined my NIC had failed.
Then there is Qwest. They have got to be the flippin WORST ISP in the world. I can't wait to get rid of them. They SUCK. Only reason I use them now, is we had to move into an apartment, awaiting completion of our new house being built. DSL worked for 2 days. Then failed. Called tech support. After two hours they decided a tech needed to come out. They said there was a line fault outside someplace. Tech that showed up said the problem was inside. Initially I couldn't get online with the included Cat5 cable. HAD to use usb. argh. After being without an internet connection for2 or more days, things finally worked (And in the meantime QWEST messed up on my service. Set it up for 256 when it should have been 1.5.) AND forget anything faster. Only copper wire in the area. For higher speed, Qwest says we need fiber and it doesn't exist in the area.
After finally connecting to the internet, less than a month later I find I had to do a ipconfig /release and /renew and reboot the modem in order to get onto the internet.
Never had these problems with Cox.

| Re: Cox HSI azsilvertip,
Reasonable prices are here. Qwest has released 3,5,or 7meg down 896k up for 29.99 per month. Which one is available is dependent on how far you are from a DSLAM. I could look at your address if you'd be interested. I can be reached at 866 401-0322 or by e-mail at Dan.Conway@qwest.com. Also would like to send a message to pweegar that I'm sorry about the DSL problems you've experienced. I can honestly tell you as a tele-commuter using 7m DSL premier service, which doesn't require fiber optics by the way, that DSL has always been a reliable service. Every company is going to have service problems at some point, and it's unfortunate when it happens. If there is anything I can do to assist you now or in the future I would be happy to take ownership of your account. Let me know if you have any further problems
