Comcast sucks...but......

Lately, Comcast has been horrible. Service vanished and speeds diminished. Still, there is nothing faster in my area of NJ. I get on average 900/120. I USED to get 2200/130, but those days are gone. I have cable tv so I pay 39.95 a month instead of 49.95. Even if Verizon dsl gets up to speed, it won't match cable speed...but it does beat cable reliablity, because sometimes I get 500/80 or 1300/125. I never know.

I don't think my Verizon lines are rated at even 768, so getting dsl is out of the question because no matter what ISP I choose, they will still use the Verizon lines.

I am seriously considering moving 20 miles into OptimumOnline territory. No joke.

Verizon DSL

I too have Verizon DSL and signed up for the reduced monthly rate of 29.95. It's great isn't it? Now I'm good until Fios becomes available in my neck of the woods (that being da Bronx).

ComCast has been horrible for me. 5-38 % packet loss for over 5 weeks and have an official reply from them saying " They deemed the problem to be intermittent and as such an acceptable range of loss " and told that they will do nothing to fix this. The problem is affecting all homes in my area and is a head end problem that they call too costly to fix compared to the amount of people complaining about it.

I would have switched to DSL except Verison will only guarantee 768 speeds.
