Yup, Shaw sure slows down a lot...

9700 down and 980 up 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Thats over 3 times the speeds you receive from Enhanced.

And 500 kilobits per second making a huge difference? Thats 62.5 kbps, assuming you get it all the time on every server.

I had Telus Enhanced 1.5 years ago when it was 2.5 megabit. I never got higher than 1.3 down, and when I was on regular 1.5 I received 1.1 down.

Actually, shaw does slow down, quite significantly. I subscribed to their service and found that there were huge variances in performance. Furthermore, the modems they used (at that time) were junk. they had an average life span of 8 months. I subscribe to telus HSE At home and Shaw at work.... My home connection if by far faster. I have had 2 systems outages at home in the last 7 months and about 15 at work.
