if you got 100ms pings WITHIN VZ's network you got big issues. once out on the net its out of verizons hands.

check your duxplex speed on your NIC card other then that call verizon and ask them why am i ping times so high? If all you did was change from DSl to FIOS nothing else should of changed, do a bandwidth test and speakeasy.net. If your getting below par speeds, there is a problem.
