| Review: XO Communications sucks bad service always down Review of XO communications: XO Communications goes down more than a few times per year. It's Sept and we're down for the fifth time. But there have been 8 other times when thay lost our data, or service was to a crawl. BUT THE TOTAL SERVICE DOWN 5-8 times a year in the norm with them. They are very slow with customer service and charge much more than any other providers in their space.
XO Will lose your company money - DON'T USE THEM.
They also host our sites and since we switched over we have had nothing but trouble. Their entire system goes down and 1000's of users are not told what is going on and when you get them on the phone they lie and say nothing is wrong YET EVEN THEIR OWN XO.COM site is down.
Bad service, lies, costs MORE than others, I'd say XO Communications sucks.

Having not reviewed your responses since posting this on Saturday, I doubt you'll ever read this, but just in case - and for the benefit of others - I'll say this:
a. We have an XO fractional T1 at my day gig - it has SUCKED ROYALLY for the entire year we have had it, but never totally failed. Thank the stars our company does not depend on it to stay in business. b. At that price and term of commitment, you SHOULD have a QOS level in your contract (if not, whoever signed that contract should be unemployed) - assuming you DO have a guaranteed service level, a quick call to your company attorney should have you back up and running in a matter of hours.
HOWEVER, if I was out of communications services for 1 day and it was crucial to my business, I'd have Verizon installing phone lines and DSL, or the Cable company wiring me for Cable internet, or buying a Satellite internet system, or renting space where such service is available, or AT THE LEAST have my numbers forwarded to an employee's/owner's home phone. If your ownership/management has not taken steps to solve this problem in 9 days, the company is destined to fail for some reason at some point REGARDLESS of XO's problems, AND if your company depends on a high-speed connection for it's survival, you should have already had a DSL/Cable/Satellite backup in place. Do you even have a backup of your accounting data in case the business computer fails or your building burns to the ground? If it means your survival, you have a backup plan (BE PREPARED).
