I have just switched over to Roadrunner this week in Arlington, but I can't figure out where I can read/answer email if I am away from my home computer.

It's webmail.tx.rr.com (redirects to »webmail.tx.rr.com/webedge ). Yeah, they should link right from their homepage. I really hate to say it but: flash-infested as it is, the Comcast home page and webmail are the best out of the few ISPs I'm really familiar with (Verizon, AT&T, Earthlink, Comcast, RR). -- Think outside the fox...Seamonkey

1 edit | STAY AWAY From Time Warner/RoadRunner At All Costs! I had Comcast for 2 and 1/2 years and service was great, speed was excellent and reliability was perfect! Time Warner came to Dallas and took over the whole thing the first of August and after a month on Septembet 3rd my internet went out and would come on for a few minutes every hour or so. After 8 techs out to my house, 3 line technitions out on the poles, and numerous phone calls with these people regarding this situation, on October 3rd I switch over to DSLExtreme/AT&T DSL and I've been up and running every since. I had SWB/Yahoo DSL before I went to Comcast/TWC but I got their cable TV service and they kept on about their speed so I made the switch. Worked great when Comcast had it, but as soon as Time Warner took it over everything went downhill. I wish I had never switched over and stayed with DSL like I had to begin with. What a drama the whole thing was! Time Warner's tech support totally sucks and after constantly being told over and over again the problem with the connection was me and my computer, I just couldnt take it anymore! It's obvious now what the problem was, and I've take care of that. The cable TV has been fine since day 1 but knock on wood it will be ok. I just have the basic at $11.35 a month because I'm not a big TV person, thats why I keep it. I'm more into the internet. I dont know what happened with Time Warner but I can see them not doing so well in the Dallas area. Even a couple of their techs told me they liked working for Comcast better so what does that say.
Now a couple of months later, with the money I have saved by dropping Time Warner as my internet provider I decided "oh why not get a DVR box from them, it's only $12.95 a month (went up from $9.95 when it was Comcast) and I might enjoy my cable more." Well after numerous phone calls to them to inquire would it work with what I have etc etc, I said OK let me drive over to their office here and pick one up, I was told there would be no charges, just they would start billing me for the DVR box. Well they made me look like a complete idiot! I drove all the way over there, stood in line on a Saturday, and right in front of everyone looking, I was told that I would have to put up a $150 deposit on the box because my payments had been late a couple of times! WTF??? I explained to the woman if she would read my account, and see the issues I have had with their service, and see that it was Time Warners fault totally, internet been out, billed for service I no longer had, then she could see that this was not my fault IT WAS THEIRS! She just gave me a really stupid look and said "sir I can appreciate how you feel but if you want the box you're going to have to put up a $150 deposit" I said "well thats NEVER going to happen" and I turned and walked out. I am now searching around for other service to completely break away from this company. I cannot believe after all this time with them, paying my bills as they were sent, then THEY make a big mess out of everything, and who has to suffer? They point the finger at me yet AGAIN!! I say stay away stay stay away from Time Warner if you can!
