join:2004-10-18 St Catharines, ON | NG support I don't think the NG support is bad, actually. Most ISP's worldwide have completely dropped NG support and Cogeco is one of the last of the larger ISP's I know of in Canada that still have it. While it's only 3 day, that's not bad at all.

| Re: NG support In my book, a crappy, nearly unusuable service is not much better than no service. Very few people can live with 3-day retention and unreliable completion rates. I have some friends on cogeco who explicitly spent more $ just to get better newsgroup access.
Hosting their own newsgroup server is supposed to save them $ from bandwidth costs.

@cgocable.net | Cogeco Cogeco is very unprofessional. Long wait times for support. We did not even reach our bandwith max before we got capped.

| Nerf Shamans? Also, my experience with Cogeco has been bad. This was not always so before I moved, I was getting up to 12Mbps at times, and on average I got ~8Mbps, I was very happy! After I moved though, I started getting >1.5Mbps on average, after 4 tech visits they concluded that my address won't get a better signal for ~a year.
I've since moved on. | |
