| Economy I've recently changed from the mid-speed comcast plan that is $42 to the economy plan for $25.
I tested my speed before and after
Averaged 7 MB, peaked at 11MB on regular plan
After, I averaged about 900KB, and peaked at 1.2 MB
The savings is worth it to me. I can still download music. I just queue up a lot of downloads and leave my computer on while I eat lunch and it's done when I come back.
You can still view web pages at the same speed.
You can still stream music that is near CD quality(128kbps).
You can still stream videos, at 480p. Higher resolutions tend to need some more buffer time which I don't mind. A lot of websites will make you wait anyway because their servers are too slow or too busy. The $17/month ($204/year) is well worth the slight wait sometimes. |
