| speed test method and mounting type? How are you testing your upload speed? Many speed tests will report a low value testing with a small sized file to upload; (if you test uploading a file that takes a second to upload but add a second of latency for satellite, you'll obtain a value half of the "maximum" throughput the connection can deliver once the transfer is started.) I've found the testmy.net 2992 kb upload test the most reliable and repeatable test for satellite connections (I'm not necessarily saying the tests which measure using small files are inaccurate, just measuring something different than the maximum upload throughput the connection can deliver.)
Also how is the dish mounted -- pole mount or tripod? Unless it is an extremely strong storm rolling through, your dish should not be moving so much as to throw off the alignment and upload to that degree, or I'm afraid you'll run into problems down the road. -- Very happy TDS DSL user | Wildblue in Lake Michigan |
