1 edit | New Windstream service I would gladly pay 50.00 a month for a stable 8mbs d and 5mbs up. I think everybody who comes to this site would pay that!! But it ain't happening. So back to reality... I understand what you mean w/problems getting the service installed.(read my review) But Windstream is a growing company, who is upgrading their services, which is faster the RR in my area. As stated earlier, they're growing, bumping up speeds and all that and things are just a little chaotic right now. Just give them a chance. I've had a few kinks also, but they've been on the ball when it comes to resolving a problem. Check out our forum>>> »Windstream
There are alot of helpful guys & a few of them work for WS and we're glad to help where we can.

| Re: New Windstream service Well there my only option besides the cable co, of course I am sticking with them. As far as the speed bumping goes, I know they will probably only do it where theres a good ROI or competition(Cable co is offering 10 mb down where I live, still staying with Windstream even though max speed is 3 mb, its more stable). Was really surprised they were doing a roll out of fiber in Lexington Kentucky.
Anyways, thanks for the reply.

| Windstreams Woes,,and Ho's! Though that tricky little DSL light has been blinky-blinky when I sit down it DOES come back steady when it knows I am here. Does the DSL modem know when I am home?
Speaking to the US again is fantastic. * And yes, I spoke with "Daniel" once before they came home.
Whatever happened to the Spreadstream 5200? Was it first and the 4200 is better? In three years I saw a 5200 whiz by on one install.
So the woes are, line down until activity but the Ho's are awesome. Several tests reveal I am getting 6126 down, 312 up, pretty good for Podunk, KY.I have asked to be notified when 12 is available. They are, overall,,,muchbs

| Windstream Service I had ALLTEL for many years until it was replaced by WINDSTREAM.
I pay $69.95/mth which includes local/long distance, DSL, insurance, the whole nine yards. Their service has been impeccable, DSL tech advice has never let me down, and when my husband also got a computer, Windstream furnished the necessary equipment so we could both be on line at the same time.
In addition, I have my DISH bundled in on the same bill (@ 49.99/mth less $5.00/mth discount for doing so. (I hate DISH and will get rid of it as soon as the 2 year contract is complete!!!)
Effective July 1, my McAfee protection will also join my bundle @ $2.99 month which is much less expensive then buying it outright.
Windstream has never failed to answer any question I had, and did so immediately.
