read HughesNet reviews

I would suggest you read HughesNet reviews before you decide anything. Both have their problems.

Big/Small FAP bucket is better for some, worse for others

quote:
The Fair Access Plan has a 30 day roll over, which is way too long to be without speed. Hughes has a 24 hour roll over.
The flip side to that is that if you want to download something large when you want it, you sometimes simply can't do that on hughes without slowing to a trickle (because the smaller fap bucket will hit you) whereas with wildblue if you're not a heavy user but have occasional heavy uses, the fap doesn't get in your way. For example, I downloaded the 4 CD set of centos 5.x recently at full speed in the middle of the day - no problem on wildblue. On hughes, I would have exhausted the fap bucket at 1/4 downloaded...
