Bazillion $39/month?

How did you get IDSL for $39 a month? Bazillion advertises at $49.

how do you get static IP work

I ordered idsl with a static ip. Covad tech came to install the line and flowpoint 144
, and then test it with a dscp. It works fine. then, I called bazillion to get a static IP,
and put it in. IT NEVER WORK. I could ping my NIC, but I could not ping the router. It seems no connection between PC and router. I spoke to tech support and
still getting no where. As soon as back to DHCP. It works again.

Do they reconfigure your router for static ip after covd installed?
thanks

Re: how do you get static IP work

I have the same service as you leon with dhcp. The flow point 144 is not a router. Its a bridge. The is no drivers or configuration cable of the bridge itself. I haven't had an IP change since my service was turned on in Oct. I believe that Bazillion or covad would have to route you through a static IP server not a dhcp server. Not totally for sure on this and might be talking outta my league here but makes sense to me. When you say router are you speaking of the gateway IP? I could very well learn something from this too...GL

Re: Err .. ..

No it is not. They don't offer DSL to new subscribers anymore. They are still an awesome ISP for their existing DSL customers. They still offer dial-up access, paging, faxing and long-distance services.

Re: Err .. ..

DUH! I guess you didn't get the goodbye note from your Bazillion buds saying they were providing support for NO SERVICES? Or the announcement that all staff of 175 or so was canned outright?

If you were satisfied with their level of service and support, you must have got them on a good day...

Bazillion no long offers DSL services, but they are moving their DSL customers to Speakeasy - which is a very good ISP.

Re: Err .. ..

what do you mean? It has just been said that they are keeping exiting customers.
Anon Our beloved Bazillion isn't "moving" anyone to another ISP. We've been dumped and are on our own, with a pat on the rear and a suggestion that we check with Covad or Speakeasy. Can you spell DUMPED?
Anon They just went out of business. Got an Email on Sat and was cutoff on Mon. I even was paid up for the rest of the month.Just a tip if this happens to anyone else, call you CCard Co and tell them to charge the fee back to Bazillion.

Re: Err .. ..

Alas, poor Bazillion, I knew him well. And waited patiently for my year subscription to lapse so I could get a real DSL provider.

Then POOF! -- croaked off half term –- took my money, and left my DSL dangling.

Oh well, my mother taught me to always speak good of the dead. Bazillion is dead. Good.

Gee, I didn't get my good-bye note either! Oh well, they failed to bill me for the past two months so they can kiss my a$$. They've been crappy since October anyhow. Guess I'm out of my annual contract! Yippee!!!!!!!

One of the many faces of Bazillion

I have had the Bazillion since Sept and NO problems at all.
And the phone is great even on the local long distance. I no longer have a Long Distance Carrier.

And what do you have now?

IDSL go bye bye

What support line are you calling? I must say I have been very happy with my IDSL connection until yesterday evening when I lost sync. Since then I have been on the phone for over 1 1/2 hrs hitting 1 over and over and over and over and... well you get the point. If I don't get ahold of someone tomorrow Bazillion ain't seeing any of my money (luckily the CC bill with my installation charge on it isn't due for a week or so).

Massive outages 1/9/2001 to present..

My Service went out on January 9th, 2001 and has been down now for 4 days. I have called their support number 1000 times, called their main corporate number was told they would call me back (never heard back from them), I then called the number contained within their whois records (it was fake) and finally sent multiple emails to the company politely asking for an estimated time until my services would be back up.

It is now the 4th day and I have heard nothing they refuse to repond to me and as of this morning both number (corporate and support) have busy signals (i.e. off the hook). As of this evening their website is now offline although their mail server still remains up.

I really wish I knew what was going on.. they have never contacted me explaining to me what is going on and at this point I am going to refuse any further charges from this company. If anyone has any information of what is to be come of this terrible isp I would appreciate some information.

Thank you..

Re: Massive outages 1/9/2001 to present..

Looks like they are going completely under. Time to call the CC company and get rid of those charges. Hey, on the bright side, I've got a free IDSL router. Perhaps I can pawn it off on ebay!
I guess it's time to look into getting a cable modem. AT&T is supposed to be offering service here next month.

I would agree that Bazillion has been a great ISP so far. I got in just before they stopped offering DSL. I have had no problems with their service so far. I have had their 608kbps service. The only problem I had was with Covad. They messed up the install and crossed the wiring. I moved the DSL modem over to the correct outlet and everything is working fine.
