why the NIC card?

Why did they provide you with an ethernet card if the modem is USB?

Re: why the NIC card?

My mistake, it's not a USB modem.

Re: why the NIC card?

I have the same set-up as you but with a 3Com Ethernet. The first 3 weeks I had the NIC and the 4060 and they could not get me live until I got the Alcatel Speed Touch. My throughput is between 1800kbps and 2500kbps w/tweaks.

Help

I bought my own Speed Touch Home Modem to solve the Speed Touch USB dying problem and to expand my network. I hope someone can help me finish the installation.

I have a Speed Touch Home that I put on a new dual CPU computer that was using the Speed Touch USB hardly acceptably. The Speed Touch Home does not work yet. I have it in place of the STUSB and it is configured properly and synching.

I obviously did not get any software from BellSouth to use it. Is there software required? Is it the same as for the USB (would not think so). If it is different and you could, would you e-mail me a copy of what they gave you? I really do not want to call them for any help. All I have gotten so far is the run around and ineptitude.

Would that be the Enternet 300 software?

Thanks. I really appreciate your help, if you can give it.

Bob in Atlanta.
