| Anon | Slammed by Telocity's DSLAM
Rythems Installed DSL Line: 3-1-01 Received Modem: 3-8-01:
Rythems Tested DSL Line: Passed Hooked up Modem and Can't see DSLAM to download configuration for modem. Tech support gives me a different answer everytime I call. 1st They Said: The had to reset Router (Callback in 5 days) 2nd Call: DSL IP Address wasn't setup (Callback in 3 - 5 days) 3rdCall: Level two - DSL Line must have condensation and they are going to contact Ameritech to check the line, Tech support (Ron) said "We want your money", and "We will do anything to keep youu happy," (Undetermined Length)
Another thing: Tried calling Billing department, for several working days. Get a Message "Due to Heavy call volume, please call back later."
My diagnosis: Telocity Techies Go back to MCSE Bootcamp ("Indefinitely") and Shove the trouble ticket up your @$$!
My Opinion: They don't have a clue. (id10t: ERROR) and My problem is a mystery to me as is to them.
Solution: Do not go with Telocity unless you know how to trouble shoot Telocity's problems for them.

| Anon | Need I say more What are you trying to say.
It seems the company is telling you how sorry they are and not able to continue to provide you the service because rythems filed chapter 11. It gives you every detail in dealing with the service termination. You cannot say you are misinformed. It gives u 30 days to return the gateway b4 they charge u. I think this is a good correspondence.

You're right, this is a good correspondence. I was happy to receive information regarding my service. Provided that everything goes according to the time frame that it gives, I cannot fault Directelocity.
The only thing that I am saying is that my service is not going to be available. This is listed in the "mixed reviews", which obviously would still indicate that I was happy with parts of their service. I will miss Telocity/Directv. I didn't give a bad review. I just updated my review to reflect the status of my service. When all is said and done I will delete the entire entry.
As far as paying Ameritech for service, it isn't going to happen. The only offerings in the area fall under that category, which their service is a far inferior product ( ie.)PPPoE ADSL in the range of 300/128). Service for DSL in my area for the average residential user, have become limited at best. DSL doesn't look like the best choice at the moment. -- "Never trust a computer you can't throw out a window."-Steve Wozniak Fold for a Cure!

| | | Anon | Re: Need I say more I am sorry for your lost of service. After using broadband for a while, I cannot imagine what it would be like jumping back to dailup. It is addictive.
If you can get DSL service from (ILEC/CLEC/ISP) from Ameritech. You should be able to get ILEC/CLEC portion from Ameritech with an independent ISP which will give you static IP without the PPPoE (eye soars).
