| Connect South I recently last week had connectsouth 768x768 installed for a buisiness i am starting in my home.200$ a month is the cost to me . At first the sales guys were hot for my business and told me this and that and that it could be upgraded in speed within a few min of calling them at any time. Well this is not the case i have been waiting for 3 days and they stop returning my calls . Tech support is a joke 9 out of 10 times if you get anyone at all it is a secretary relaying info . From day one my service went down for 6 hours and everytime my phone rings my pc locks up from the install that wasnt done correctly.Probably because the install date was a wek behind schedule . Then i am supposed to get new equipment a 4 port modem well they leave me a single port mode, that looked like it was pulled out of the trash and it took me 3 days to get that resolved. I do not feel there connection is stable enough for the price they ask for there service i am always experiancing laytency issues and unstable speeds even after tweaking my registery out. The list goes on and on and i have only been hooked up for about 1 week lol .
Upon making this msg the powers that be contacted me about 2 hours later. It seemed there had just been a mixup in communication because of a recent storm in there area . They did however address all my issues and within a few hours had me up and going 100% ,and they credited me on my bill for the lost time. After this and speaking with the companys managers on there policys i definatly would recommend this service to anyone.Thx for making it happen guys

| | | Anon | Re: Connect South :( I have has service for a couple days, the 2.3MB UP and DOWN connection. Got 64 public IP's
Install was scheduled in a timely manner. The equipment was installed properly. The connection seems to be ok, I ususally get about 40% of my bandwidth during laggy times and get almost the full 2MB when traffic is good!
I run a web hosting business so I defin need it.
I would also like to comment about the DSL modem/router. When I signed up for it, I said I wanted the 4 port, but I too received the 1 port DSL modem/router. Guess its really no big deal I have plenty of Hubs, but its just the thought that counts.
The DNS servers went down for about 10 minutes after I was installed, kind of worried the same day I had it installed. But since then I have been 100% for 4 days and building confidence.
Also I would like to note, the technical team seemed real knowledgable and was very helpful with the exception of one lady.
I will be sure to keep everyone informed as time goes by with my new ConnectSouth Connection.

| ConnectSouth -- not bye bye!
I have to disagree strongly with you on your recent review, wackyman! I am a Connect South customer here in memphis, TN and I have been more than impressed with the quality of service they have provided me. I recently purchased their up-to 768k package and not only have I seen consistent speed rates (the lowest I have ever tested at was 702k), but as of yet have never been down or had any other problems with my connection. Now I'm not depending on never being down, I'm not stupid. All ISP's have a few problems every now and then, and that is to be expected with a technology as new as dsl. As far as thier managers and employees go, they seemed very knowlegeable and their technical staff is some of the most honest and informed I have ever seen, and I've dealt with quite a few. The price is descent, the connection is stable, and the install was quick and painless-- the tech even offered to hook up one of my pc's, although I declined because I am already running a pretty solid network.
I don't know where you get your information, but if a company can keep up a service level as good as that, then they will have no problem staying in business for a long time. I think you have this company confused with bluestar.net(my old isp). Now there's a stack of problems, or should I say WAS. Anyway, I have to reccomend Connect South, especially in TN. I'm happy.

Sounds like you have some sour grape issues. Did you happen to be a former ConnectSouth employee?

@actel.net | Re: 2.2MBPS SDSL was great while it lasted Why is that being a vulture? I kind of feel sorry for all those CS customers. And there's absolutely no reason that they should have to put up with Bell's outrageous pricing!
