173.32.0.0/14

Looks like I'm on the new 173.32 address range now. My modem stopped working, and after rebooting it I was magically put on this address range.

It seems that Rogers recently got this since the registration date on this IP range was the 6th of August.

Completely unexpected on my end!

[ Extreme] Really High Pings

Ok, everything has been perfect up until recently. All of a sudden, the pings for various servers in new york jumped from 50-60 to well over 100.

Is there ANYTHING I can do to lower my pings. I've tried everything, router, modem, release, renew. Any other tricks?

[ Extreme] Simple question about unlimated.

So basically its only $25.00 if you go over by 13 gigs of my 60gigs/mth limit, so i can go over it by 200gigs and will only pay $25.00?

Every month we come closer and closer to 60gigs (last month was 57gigs), and ive restrained myself from downloading stuff alot (mainly streaming tv shows) but i dont mind paying $25.00 to my dad if it means i can go over the limit alot like to 150gigs/mth instead.

Or are their limits within that MAX $25.00 limit?

[ Home Phone] Rogers assumes I'm Chinese?

My latest snail mail ad from Rogers on home phone appears to have suddenly decided that Chinese is my primary language... it's addressed to me on the Chinese side, and although there IS an english version on the back (no personalization), even the Rogers 877 number provided (same on both sides) is only in Chinese.

Now it's true I'm in Markham, and it's true my last name although British could be mistaken for Asian... but gee.

Hot deal for existing Rogers Internet customers....

....& Free Wireless N Router!
[att=1]

quote:If your Internet is from Rogers, and you're a current customer - you can save $4.95 per month by eliminating the modem rental fee. Future Shop is currently selling the Rogers Internet Modem for $100 - and after activation, Rogers will credit back the $100 to your account (basically, you pay for the taxes only).

Since you now own the modem, you don't need to pay for the modem rental fees from Rogers. In addition, they're also including a free D-Link Wireless N Router with the Rogers modem.

Basically, you pay $13 for the Rogers Modem, a D-Link Wireless N Router, and get to save $5 each month. The discount works even if you have a bundle savings from Rogers. There's no contract or anything.

[ Extreme] http (port 80) blocked/filtered - L3R1B5

Is anyone else having issues with Rogers http browsing? All other ports seem to work - but all http (port 80) request are not going through. I have tried two separate routers, so that is ruled out.

I guess if others are having such issues they'd be unable to post here or see this message.....

Moving with Rogers

Hello, Rogers advertises moving your service online, and saving the moving / connection charge.

I've looked all over the website (even when logged in) and the only moving links tell me to call them.

Are they on the site anymore, I've looked everwhere, but can't help but wonder if it's hidden someplace.

Thanks
