[ALL] Newbie Where to Ask this Question

I am in Northwest Montana near the border of Idaho. I have been using Cable/Montana Sky Net. I pay $50.00 or so a month for what is suppose to be 10 meg down/2 Meg up. The company has no fiber yet and is using a microwave connection for bandwith over cable of course. I swear I never get near the speeds I'm paying for. Yes if I use the local Speed test to the local office it runs 8 to 10 meg. But if I attempt to Ping say Seattle it drops to say 2.7 meg. And this is just a example same to any other city give or take. I don't care if I was getting 100/mbps to the local office to me it's what I'm getting to the outside world? This is using say Speakeasy test.

My other option is Frontier which is advertising 15 down/2 up for 29.99 a month. It's using pardon if I miss quote ADSL or VDSL2? I am scared to switch as I've always been told Cable is much faster until nighttime here it gets horrible. (They claim they are working on it running fiber into town SOMEDAY???) My question is will this bonded DSL match or exceed my cable in speeds. Seems it's always that advertised catch phrase UPTO ??? Speeds that get yeah. I had the Premium package with Road Runner in North Carolina and it was awesome moving here was like going back to dial up. I like to Stream movie's and music mostly. What should I do??? HELP!!!

Thanks So Much

[WA] Moving to WA---Internet Option

I am being transferred to WA next month. I will be moving to DuPont and was wondering about internet there. I have read a couple things on providers there and wanted to know ya'lls thoughts. For the last 10 years I have had TWC and have been completely happy with their service during that time. I see TWC seems to provide service but was wondering how they compared to any other providers there. Any thoughts? And if it helps I would prefer not to deal with satellite.
