<title>[Praise] For DAR Constitution Hall Staff</title>

<description><![CDATA[Went down to see Robin Williams last night at DAR and somehow my wife dropped her wallet in the building. She's still trying to get a mental picture of where because, well because we generally like to know how we screwed up.

Anyway, by the time we got home there was a message for her from the head usher at DAR telling her that he had the wallet and he had found the number by matching the name on her cards and license with a phone number listed in the phone book. When she called back he told her to not worry because it appeared to be intact and had been given to their security by one of their staff. They even had a general description of how she looked because he said he expected a petite blond in a red coat to come up and ask about it. 

They have locked it in the security safe until she can come get it.  Then he proceeded to give her instructions on exactly which door to come to and who to ask for this morning - they will be setting up for the Steely Dan concerts tonight so we can pick it up as early as 9AM.

So a big rave and praise for the staff at DAR. I've been to other venues where the staff would have emptied it the same as a common thief.

And by the way - Robin Williams was hilarious as usual. Laughing for 90 minutes is good for you but my face hurts from the work out.

<title>[Rant] Walmart Phone Customer Department Sucks!!</title>

<description><![CDATA[Walmart phone customer service really sucks!! 

I mean they suck big time!! 

I just called them four times for the past couple of minutes.. first call got disconnected with their operator. ok fine, they might be having some routing issue so i tried my 2nd attempt. I got with their operator. ok,  cool, i said i need to talk with their computer department so she transferred me over . my 2nd attempt was put to an end when i got their voice mail. no one even bothers to answer the damn phone. ok well, so i tried it for the third time, i got someone from computer department, i ask if they have a NIC. ok cool, so they have one. I ask how much it was and that lady just dropped the phone.. ok last try before they hit the mark.. i called them up again using their local number.. damn it.. just a busy dial tone..

<title>[Minor Rant] Ill-timed calls from the doctor&#x27;s office</title>

<description><![CDATA[I had an appointment with the doc this morning. I've had it for a few weeks, and all of the devices I have that remind me of such things did their job, so I went on time. No issues.

I did notice that I got a call yesterday reminding me of my appointment today. My appointment was at 7:30am, and the call was received early yesterday afternoon. Part of the message left was, "...and if you cannot make this appointment, please call to cancel more than 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment will be subject to a $25 no-show fee."

And you're calling me with less than 18 hours of notice ... so why bother letting me know? Just tell me that "if you call to cancel we're still going to charge $25." Or even better, call another day earlier and at least give me a chance to cancel without penalty.

For the record, I've never had to cancel and have never been charged this fee by any doctor. The calls for most appointments seem to occur the day before and most give the same illogical warnings. Do they not realize how stupid they seem when they do this, or don't they care, worrying only about the cancellation fee?]]></description>

<title>OOL vs FIOS</title>

<description><![CDATA[So... I had to post this after seeing another one of those god damned OOL commercials about how Verizon sucks (you know, the one with the mom following the fake verizon guy around).

If you like to watch tv, especially HDTV, FIOS wins hands down in terms of quality, sound and video. 

If you like to use a ton of downstream bandwidth, and you can max the 101mbits/sec (I can pretty much hit the cap all the time using giganews) and you dont care about HDTV, then get/stay with OOL. Especially if you need ports opened, although Verizon might now be openening them now, I don't know.

If you like to upload alot of stuff, use FIOS... if you can get their 50/20 plan.

If anyone from OOL reads this... just because that commercial is so damned annoying, if I could get FIOS where I live now, I'd drop OOL like a hot potato. Your commercial annoys me that much, especially when FIOS HD is better than OOL.]]></description>
