[bug] IM is sending duplicate/triplicate messages periodically

Periodically, IM sends the same IM two or three times to the recipient. The recipient receives two or three copies of the message and wonders why I sent it several times. This happens about once a week and so far with only one member (a member I IM with frequently).

Apparently, the site eventually tries to correct itself because when I looked back today, to a week ago when this happened last, I found only one instance of the IM being sent. But it was sent twice and the recipient got two copies of the IM approximately 13 hours apart! I did not delete the second time the message got sent yet it is no longer in my IM history with this member so the site must notice its error at some point and delete all but one copy from my history?

I am posting about this because it happened again today and the recipient notified me about it. (I have no way of knowing that 2 or three (four one time) identical replies have been sent if I use the minireply rather than go to the main IM history page). Sure enough, today when the recipient mentioned he got three replies (all the same) from me earlier today, I went to IM History and there sits three identical replies from me. I only sent a reply ONCE. In today's case, the replies are not many hours apart but only a couple of minutes:

2012-02-02 03:04:42

2012-02-02 03:03:33

2012-02-02 03:01:29

It works the other way also. Sometimes, I receive two to four identical replies from this member. Sometimes they are minutes apart other times hours apart. I have not deleted any of the identical ones, yet, looking back in IM history, I see that the site eventually deletes all but one from my history but that does not happen quickly as I have seen them there for days.

I am at a loss as to why this is happening but it is beginning to be a bit irritating. Plus, I feel a bit of unease that the site is deleting messages out of my history without my permission (even if they are duplicate messages).

HTTPS/SSL Observation and Question

I started using h t t p s : / / secure.dslreports.com/forums/fav recently. I realize I may be unique and this "feature" may be young. :-)

It appears the SSL structure is fairly complete but one notable exception is the forums:

This link on the page: https://secure.dslreports.com/forum/unixdsl (SSL))
redirects to: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/unixdsl (non-SSL)

I didn't sniff it but it behaves like a redirect, anyway.

Oversite or known behavior?

[bug] Image server problem?

Seems that all the avatars and a lot of the page graphics have just disappeared! The "smilies" on the left side of the post compose page are gone, too, as well as a lot of the icons within the threads themselves. Wasn't like that earlier today.

First poster "blues"?

Yeah, the site's busy (meter hittin' in the red zone). The servers might be "confused" at times. But it seems whenever/if ever I'm the first poster on a news item, I always get the blank, white screen after hitting the button to post. Nginx problem? One of the others? The post seems to always get saved OK, so not a major setback--just mildly annoying.
