I am not seeing anything in the ticker at the bottom of the screen. It just says "-nothing-". I went to the preferences panel and made sure it was set up correctly, yet nothing is showing. Is there a problem?

Still unpingable in Line Quality Testing!

Alright, I am using Time Warner Cable's RoadRunner service with a RCA Model DCM425 modem connected to a Linksys WRT54G2 router. I had gone to my Windows Firewall(the only firewall i have) and make sure my Local Area Connection's ICMP is set to "allow incoming echo request." Although I can ping via cmd and through Hamachi, DSLReports still says that i am unpingable.

Speed test result

I've always been curious exactly what speed test is reporting.

Is it reporting actual payload (i.e. file transfer) or does it include TCP/IP overhead? The FAQ is not clear.
Does the test ever overestimate speed? (#12146)
No. It is impossible for this Java-based speed test to overestimate speed. It can, however, underestimate ...

... protocol overhead will mean that you never reach the actual speed advertised by your ISP. In some cases, especially PPPoE connections, you can lose almost 15% of advertised speed in protocol overhead. I find statement about PPPoE rather curious. PPPoE overhead is about .5% (8 bytes out of 1500 assuming max packet size). PPPoE is controversial enough without giving the impression it has such high overhead. ATM overhead is 10% (53/48 cell tax) but at least in Verizon's case that is compensated by ADSL sync rate higher then advertised rate. No mention of TCP/UDP/IP overhead.

Judging by the last paragraph I assume test is reporting file transfer payload.

Is anyone maintaining the DSLR notifier addon?

I'm curious as to who is maintaining the DSLR Notifier Firefox addon. The home page lists www.dslreports.com. The homepage in the addon is blank and appears to be abandoned.

I've fixed a number of bugs with the current 1.2 version and would like to get in touch with the author/maintainer.

Bugs fixed:

1. Clicking alert slider opens DSL Reports page. Previously it generated an error in the error console.
2. When polling window is closed, another window now takes over. Previously the old window would keep trying to poll which not only failed to work, but resulted in a memory leak.
3. Bypasses cache so polling results will be up to date (helps with proxies that cache).
4. Bumped up version number to install in Firefox 3.0
5. Fixed a few more memory leaks reported by Leak Monitor extension.
6. Fixed issue where if user quit Firefox using File->Exit or browser crashed, the extension wouldn't check when Firefox was started next time.
7. Fixed issue where slider, popup and sound alerts might trigger only once per browser session.
8. Fixed so that changing the "Show icon set on all/single window" and "update interval" preferences takes effect immediately instead of on browser restart.
9. Cleaned up code a bit so there's not as much needless processing going on.

Who ever is in charge, feel free to use the changes (dslrOverlay.js, overlay.xul, overlay-moz.xul, reportstatus.js (defaults), install.js and install.rdf).

Something changed over the weekend.

I cant quite place it but when I clicked in yesterday the page I normally come in on had changed. Seems a whole section or line across the top disappeared.

Now that I have got used to it and know that all I have to do to get to my favorites page is click on members and goes right there.

But it took me a few times to work that out. Anyone else having trouble or notice the change. Now that I am use to it Its seems faster.
