Kudos?

I sent a "kudo" to a member months ago... it shows up on my page. Along with that message, there is a "[delete]" link, which, as far as I can tell does nothing! It sure doesn't remove it from my page. Does it remove it from the recipient's page? (edit: No, I just checked that out by checking the recipient's page) Why show up for me if not for the recipient? (If that's what it does). And if it removes the message from the recipient, shouldn't it, maybe, be called a "[rescind]"? I couldn't find anything in the FAQs, other than how to accept or delete incomming kudos.
