[Need Info] Installing OS on SSD?

I upgraded my boot drive to an SSD and used an Acronis image to basically take everything installed and move it to the SSD. I have since read/heard that it is better to do a fresh install when moving from a mechanical drive to SSD.

Is this accurate?

I do have incredible performance increases since the install but if it could be better I do not mind doing a fresh install.

Would you do a fresh install in this situation?

[Need Info] Looking for software to report all used non sys file

I just installed a WD Passport drive for a family member. I need to find a quick, and hopefully easy way to identify all the non system files types (ie. .doc, .xls, etc.) on their Win 7 and XP systems. I've looked around but not found anything.

Do any of you know of a method or software that can do this? I need to make sure that the default files types within Smartware pick up all their files.

Thanks!~

[Chrome] Toolbar Icons and Memory Usage Questions

I have click & clean extension and I selected "hide button" to get rid of the toolbar icon.

Is there any way to get it back?

I think the same thing could occur with any extension I have. I don't have to uninstall and reinstall the extension to get the icon back, do I?

Also, If I uncheck the enable box for an extension, is it still using any RAM?

I don't see it listed in Chrome's task manager when I disable it, but it still could be using RAM that's being included in the "browser" category, I suppose.

Win 7 SP1 UAC and iTunes

iTunes will only run on my Windows 7 SP1 computer with the UAC turned off. When the UAC is on it says “iTunes is on a locked hard drive” or something to that affect!

What’s up with it? I do not think I should have to turn off Windows security features to run iTunes.

Has anyone else had this problem, or am I all alone in the whole universe???

[WIN7] iTunes keeps crashing.

So iTunes was running okay on my Windows 7 machine. When I added that computer to iTunes "Match" it wouldn't get past step 1, it would crash and shut down. Microsoft reported back to me that I needed to update iTunes. So I did that...but having the same issue. Thing is, now, there is no way for me to get iTunes to run at all, as it attempts to restart iTunes Match as soon as it starts up. Any tips to get this resolved? I've reinstalled iTunes twice, but my guess is that it's not a clean uninstall since it tries to restart iTunes Match as soon as I start it up. (So iTunes Match is what is causing it to crash)

[Chrome] Chrome - A Few Questions

I'm trying to get use Chrome and get cookies to work the way I like.

I want to have all cookies deleted upon existing Chrome except for sites that I whitelist and want those cookies saved.

In content settings, I have allow local data to be set, block 3rd party cookies and clear cookies when I close my browser checked.

In manage exceptions, I added [*.]facebook.com as allow.

I logged into facebook and checked the save information box. I closed Chrome, them reopened it and my cookie was gone.

Is there no way to do what I want in Chrome?

EDIT: While I'm talking chrome, I see now that I can log into multiple google accounts/users in chrome at the same time and easily switch between them. Is there a day to launch directly into one or the other? Right now, when I open Chrome, it seems to go to the user that was last opened. When I want to go directly into 1 or the other?

[Chrome] How did my Mom Delete My Chrome Session

Earlier today, a "Low Disk Space" option popped up, so my mom let the utility run. As far as I know delete Temp Files only concerns Internet Explorer right? And she also had compress old files checked, I'm in the middle of undoing that in CMD right now.

I have Chrome hidden, so the only way it can be accessed is thru the Local Settings/Application Data folder, thats how I know she didnt do it directly.

I had it set up, so everytime I'd finish browsing, I'd CTRL + ALT + DELETE and end chrome, and then when i'd load it up again I'd click "RESTORE PREVIOUS SESSION".

This process worked fantastic for over 7-8 months, this is the first time I'd had any issues.

I checked the chrome folder, and it's got 800MB, so I'm sure the data from my session is still there...is there anyway to restore it? I had about 20 tabs open.

[Updated] AutoVer...Ver.2.0.2--[Free] Feb.6/12

AutoVer is a configurable automatic or real time backup and personal versioning system. It can be used as a simple real time backup or as a more complex, but transparent version control system (like a realtime incremental backup). The beauty of this system is that once you set it up (which is extremely simple) it does everything. No remembering to backup or to check in or check out files. Every time you save a file it is copied to your backup folder, drive or FTP server. You can include and exclude certain files and browse the backups with the Backup Explorer.
Great for backing up (or one way synchronising) your work or home documents to flash memory or saving every change you make to your source code or image files.

Features

Select any number of separate folders or folder trees (including sub folders) to watch for changes - each folder tree has its own independent settings
Select straight backup or one of two versioning modes
Select any folder, drive or FTP to backup to (including memory sticks and network drives)
Option to create an initial backup before the automatic backup starts and ensure it is current on every startup
Backups can be checked automatically, at a set time or manually
Restrict which files and folders to include and exclude (by file mask) & maximum size
Change the versioning date/time stamp format and versioning rate.
Zip or delete old versions after a specified time (or just keep storing the files)
Optionally delete backup files on original file deletion permanently or to the Recycle Bin
Fault tolerance in case your backup folder/drive goes off line or source files are locked. Drives re-sync'ed when they come online
MS Office, Visual Studio plus many others supported (temp file creation, delete then rename is treated as original file change)
Backup file & version explorer included
Open backups or file versions directly (file extensions are preserved) or via inbuilt explorer
Compare file versions (using an external application)
Restore file versions one at a time or all at once via inbuilt explorer or manually
Run a program on each file change so you can encode, resize or do anything to the file - just use AutoVer for the change detection
Runs discretely in the Windows System Tray & and can be 100% portable (AutoVer can be installed on removable media)
    x86/x32 (32 bit) and x64 (64 bit) support (Windows 2000 to Windows 7+)

Change log...

Fixed: Logging sometimes stuck on Debug
Fixed: Archive zipping (zip file is locked)
