Recently Discovered you can use telnet to download email :-/ using this port

Yes, that's because this is the port for the POP3 protocol.

Not Really

About two years ago, Charter began stealth-blocking this port in many areas. Other than forcing me to move my POP server to another port and ask a friend to do a redirect for me, it has done little good, I would guess. In any case, if you're a Charter customer and this comes up open... disregard it.
