To teksavvy and their new call back polocy & Shame on Bell

I really like the new call back polocy that teksavvy has implemented, it's a huge step up, above and beyond most other service providers.

It seems it's standard practice to call the customer back when they (the customer) has called in about a problem with their line.

I know it takes extra employee time but it really makes a difference.

I switched to teksavvy home phone (already had teksavvy internet), and of course bell decided to put me on a slower internet 3M profile (from 6meg) when they hooked up the phone.

I just recieved a call form teksavvy to see if everything worked out and we found out that another ticket to Bell has to be issued as the problem still isn't resolved.

I am really impressed with the preventative nature of the call as well as the over all time line. Instead of waiting for me to do tests and call back, teksavvy was already calling me to see if everyting was proper. This saves me time and makes sure bell did everything correctly. I called in about this problem last night around 7:00pm, and I am getting a call from teksavvy at 1:00pm, less then 24hrs.

On a side note what a bunch of BS scam Bell is trying to pull. Bell is switching peoples internet profiles to a slower one when moving them form Bell to teksavvy home phone. For the average person that made the home phone switch it simply looks like they switched to teksavvy home phone and their internet got slower. If people don't know what is going on this is exactly how it looks. bell is trying to make Teksavvy look like they offer sub par service, when it is bell intentionally doing it.

That practise has to be illegal.

profile drop ?

I was wondering why this would have happened. I have been happily cruising along for the last year+ ta 5000/800 profile but i checked this morning in a whim and i have been dropped down to 4200/800. Would this be bell trying to screw with me since i transferred my phone account to teksavvy recently ? or just my bad luck.

To the teksavvy team : Problems with weirds pub calls

Hi: this is a question to the teksavvy staff about residential phone service.
Recently I start to receive phone pubs.(like phone spams)
I speak to teksavvy representative and the girl suggest me to call the spam company and ask them to take me out of the call list.
Yesterday I have one call at 5:00 am. offering me subventions to start my business. I have check the caller ID and was

UNKNOWN NAME
121-212-1212

so a false number

I have the option to dial 9 to reach them,
I did that and one representative laughing answer the phone. and ask me If I have a nice day (very stupid question with a stupid call at 5:00am in the morning????&^%$#@#)
I ask them to take me out of they list in a very polite form and not call me anymore in your life.
At this moment they automatically hang up without any answer.

It is the second time that happens that I receive calls from false Numbers

the other time was

123-123-1231
always are pub phones (selling you, credits cards, cleaning carpets, etc.)

My question is obvious:
What I can do to stop that?
Have I to call the police?
Who give phone numbers with fake numbers to this people, is a new business to telephone companies ?

I will not accept answers like bell Canada that try to sell me a 3.00 $ solution service to block numbers, hidden, in that way, his business of selling lists of phone numbers, cause is really not correct.
Someone is making illegal things spreading and selling phones list and the users have to pay also to stop that?
If it is the only way, I have no option but start to think that is a two way business of telephone companies.

The only fear solution is to give that block calling to the users victim of that for free or block it from the teksavvy server forever.

I move my phone to teksaavy and change the phone number for a new one cause this.
and now , one month after I change with a brand new number I have the same problem

PLEASE HELP !!!
I'm waiting for your fear solution to this problem.

My internet, just doesn't feel right

Ive been reading there are some planned upgrades etc, but I didn't see anything that specified me having a bit of an issue right now.

For the last couple days my torrenting has been acting really weird. These are strong torrents, thousands of people with seeds completely outnumber leechers by many multiplications.

I usually set an upload of 40kB/s and unlimited download, and I usually hit my cap with these settings on my torrents.

now, with an upload of 40k/s I can only get roughly 150kB/s down. if I limit the 40kB/s to 10kB/s then my downloads increase to 250kB/s on par with the ramping down (which is slightly delayed). Speeds are exact same whether 1 torrent or multiple are going. (note download speeds listed here are rough, give/take 15kB/s)

While this is going on my ping times are 30->40ms with the odd spike to 1xx's (utorrent isn't very smooth). These pings are not saturation ping times.

My modem says I'm connected at my normal speed with my usual SNR of 15 for up and down, and I'm still on fastpath. Nothing seems unusual on the dsl side of things.

A quick thought of mine: Ive had latency increase recently for unknown reasons and now Im having what feels like saturation speeds with good ping times. My theory is maybe I'm feeling a throttling machine that is saturated but still gives pings top priority.

I'm basically asking if I should be effected by some of these upgrades that Ive seen on the message boards, or if I need to investigate into my connection further.

thanks in advanced

Hey guys, I just got a call from Bell Canada and they tried to sell me Telephone Service & Internet Service. He stated that "Bell no longer needs to rent POTS Lines"
