FYI:
For those of you collecting TVoIP sites, here's another free video on demand site that just recently went live. In this case its a web site to a company that owns the rights to many of your older cartoons. So if you happen to want to catch up on say "Inspector Gadget", this is the site to do it on...

Netflix Streaming via PS/3

In case you missed it: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r23296534-Netflix-on-PS3

How it works: you request the disc from netflix.com; it arrives (you don't return it), you put in your ps/3, enter the auth code (that comes up on the ps/3 display) at http://www.netflix.com/ps3 and you're off and running.

Working like a charm!

[Discussion] Free Internet Movies- old and new

Today I received a tweet from Mashable regarding 10 Horror Movies Which Can Be Watched For Free. I watch a great deal of internet tv and thought it was probably a site I knew; not.

There is an internet tv website call Internet Archieve, which along with Mashable, has also received good reviews from WOT site advisor. It appears this website contains movies which are in the public domain, much like Goggle movies.

The Internet Archieve can be found at: http://www.archive.org/index.php

Then there is a new internet tv website called EpixHD which hopes to go toe to toe with HBO. (I also received a Tweet about Epix from Mashable.) For now they are offering premium HD movie service to Verizon FIOS premium internet tv and tv service customers. (EpixHD: http://www.epixhd.com/)

This weekend Epix offered free viewing of thier movies to anyone requesting an invitation. Their website displayed great movies in HD, so of course I requested an invitation.

What a rip off! All those movies I hoped to enjoy were not available to weekend guests like myself. In fact 90% of the movies available this weekend, I own on video cassette which I hope to give away before I throw them away. The nerve!

EpixHD are now attempting to get people to follow them on Twitter by offering a 30 day pass to 200 people. I signed up. :p
(EpixHD Twitter: http://twitter.com/EpixHD) They continue to offer free weeknend passes.

It has been some time since I checked in on Joost, my first internet tv experience. I think I will stop by and say hello.

Another website which shows good old movies:
http://www.classiccinemaonline.com/1/index.php

Horror and Sci-Fi at Google (vampireBat; The Ape; MonsterMaker; and Sherlock Holmes)

http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=them&emb=0#q=them&view=2&emb=0

Google video has many good full length movies, unfortunately now they are mixed in with Youtube's shorties. However, while you are on the Google video website, search for Retrovision media, Retrovision theater and Retrovision movies

[Need Info] IsoftwareTV

Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with this service? I was thinking of trying it, but have never heard of it. I can't really tell if the programming is current, or delayed like Hulu. I am also not sure about having to download software to use. Any help?

IPTV trouble shooting/test equipment

Hello

I work for a small outfit that is offering the triple play of VoIP/IPTV/Data and I was wondering if anybody has come across an inexpensive way of monitoring and trouble shooting IPTV.

I was thinking of putting several beefy servers at strategic points in our network(HE/core/edge) and load them with TSR/ViewRight for trouble shooting and monitoring. Does any know of any other inexpensive (CHEAP) ways?

I know I am just hanging this out there for people to take shots ...so shoot away

Is there an MSNBC Live Stream somewhere?

I don't like Fox news, CNN is ok, but I prefer MSNBC and I have no TV here at home. I live too far away from TV station transmitters, can't afford satellite and cable isn't wired in my remote town.

It is really frustrating being out of touch.
