bandwidth used on xbox 360

I am thinking about becoming a verizon wireless broadband customer but the 5GB limit worries me. I was wondering if there are any xbox 360 gamers that play Halo 3 or Project Gotham racing on verizon wireless and how much bandwidth is used in a certain time period (if you play for 3 hours how much is used in that time period for either game).

[ Troubleshooting] Setting up OWA access on a Blackberry?

I know this is a bit OT here.
I hope you all can help!
I have multiple people in the office that are thinking about getting a Blackberry to replace their Treo's. We only have one license for the Enterprise Server, and that is for one of the VP's. We are trying to set up their work emails addresses using the settings for OWA but we can't seem to get it validated.

Any suggestions?

[General] Connect, Disconnect and Dormant?

I have a really basic (dumb) question and I can't seem to find an answer anywhere. I have the Verizon USB 727 modem and it is working well enough but I am wondering if this is actually "always on" service or not? I just keep connecting and disconnecting like I did on dial-up but is that necessary or can you just leave it connected and if so does the dormant status take care of not tying anything up? I know that sounds awfully basic but I just can't find it. I don't want to be like that guy that ended up with a $10,000. bill the first month from running over 5 G. :) I'm kind of an old geezer so be gentle. ;)
Thanks

[General] Verizon USB 720 wireless broadband service

Stay productive, responsive and connected while on the go, right from your laptop at average download speeds of 600 Kbps – 1.4 Mbps and at average upload speeds of 500 Kbps – 800 Kbps.* " right off their web page"

As verizon customer, I have found what they advertise and what they deliver is 2 different things. I pay average 60.00 per month for their wireless service and have to call them every week because of speed issues per contract in first paragraph. I have just got off the phone with them and they are trying to tell me that they can not deliver what is in the contract because of “a marginal area." My signal strength is in what they call very good range -72DBM and I use an external antenna. Some days I reach speeds of over 1 Meg but most of the time it is below 300kdownload and 100k uploads. After the last conversation I was told that they would waive the cancellation fees "fees they created" if I wanted to move to another provider. I feel that they should not only reimburse for the time that the service was not working properly, but also reimburse for the useless equipment that they sold me with great expectations. On most cases this would be considered breech of contract. As a tech myself I have determined testing with them as well as my own testing that the issues are not with anything on my end. As an added note I was also told in the verizon store as well as with their phone service that this USB720 wireless modem can also be used to send faxes with no additional charges. I have had this account since January with no charges until the past 2 months, last month they credited back the fees. Now I am stuck in a 2 year contract that I am not happy with or I can cancel it, they waive the fees and I still will have to purchase new devices from another provider."$150.00" If there is an ongoing class action lawsuit against them for this whom do I need to speak with? Verizon should not only be made liable for false advertising, but also be made to reimburse all billed fees since activation as well as the cost of this device... Note: this device is a mobile device but I currently do not use it as such, it is attached to a fixed workstation and does not move.

Please contact me @ either this email address or by telephone (941) 525-0904.

Thanks for your help in advance, Michael S. Orlando

[General] question regarding speed

I finally got rid of Hughesnet Sat and now have Verizon Broadband (USB 720, Kyocera KR2, Zyboost dual band cell repeater) I am getting a solid 4 bars and -80 db indication. Finally getting clear voice and decent data transfer rates. The question is with this EVDO connection speed test show I am getting about 500 - 550 kbps download, with Hughenet I was showing 800 - 850 kbps but the Verizon appears to be 3 - 4 times faster. Accessing my bank or ebay or paypal is very fast previously with Hushesnet it would take 20 - 30 seconds to complete a webpage access, with Verizon it happens in about 5 - 8 SECONDS.
Can anyone explain why this appears to be?

Are you being charged for total bytes used (TX + RX)?

I've been watching my Verizon billing and yesterday confirmed that, at least as of this billing period (which for me started on July 9), Verizon is counting all bytes (TX + RX) towards my monthly quota.

I believe that's a change from prior practices but I did not document anything before. Yesterday I did.

Is this what you are seeing too? and is it a change?

Connected...but...

Hi, I have installed the Pantech USB modem on a friends laptop for him (Vista Home premium). I followed the instructions (new for me) to the letter and when done I was able to connect but no matter what I do I cannot navigate the internet. I am also unable to ping any web sites. I tried activating it in the options menu but it says Failed. Could this be the problem? I also noticed the on an XP machine (where it also fails to work) the IP address of the adapter is exactly the same as the default gateway address. In vista the default gateway is 0.0.0.0.

If someone could offer some assistance I would REALLY appreciate it. Thank you in advance!

[ Equipment] Best home antenna setup

I tried without success using a Sprint EV-DO setup (took 6 months to get the billing corrected with Sprint after I discontinued service) and had bought a special antenna for outdoor mounting. No big surprise but it did not improve the signal significantly.

I am interested in trying Verizon's EV-DO service and expect the same signal strength problems as I experienced with Sprint. I have a satellite dish on the roof directly above my office so there is a solid mounting point and existing HQ coax from the dish to a internal/infernal modem. I would like to replace the satellite dish with a EV-DO antenna and run the signal the 40 feet down into the office where I would use a amp to boost the received signal.

Is there a best antenna for this type of mounting? Is it possible to use the coax from the satellite to connect to the amp and EV-DO modem or do I need to do a new cable run?
I have only been able to find setups that are designed for truckers and their needs and the restrictions involved with their tractors. I don't have the same physical limitations for the antenna but do need a cable longer than the usual 48 inches.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

[ Troubleshooting] Verizon Wireless & Cisco VPN Client

Has anyone had any trouble with these devices disconnect after 15 minutes of no use? We run an application thru the vpn connection to a server sitting behind our firewall. If you pull up a clients info you can do it all day long as long as you do not let it site for 15 minutes or so without passing any data. Same workstations (lenono x60 tablets) work flawlessly when connected to lanline internet (cable, dsl, p2p etc.) I have found that if I ping the user once every 5 minutes or so they do not have any trouble so I can conclude that perhaps the connection pauses to save bandwidth? Internet works perfectly even if vpn connection disconnects. I have the latest cisco client, upgraded firmware and tried many different aircards in the system. Also have many land line connection to these servers and nobody else drops.
