ViaTalk VoIP One way audio

I'm having one way audio issue with ViaTalk VoIP service from past 2 weeks. The ViaTalk device is connected via the DLink DSL modem. The one way audio issue is only for phone numbers within the same local area code. For long distance calls the audio works fine in both direction.
any suggestions?

Switched to Central Servers and now Voice Mail mail problems

I just switched to the Central servers since I am in Texas. After switching I can no longer navigate the voice mail system prompts, it is not accepting the DTMF tones from my phone. This is happening on two different lines and to make it worse, I am not able to switch back to the East servers. When I try to switch to the East, I get a banner indicating that the update was successful but the server selection stays on Central. Reseting the Linksys adapters did not help. This was working fine before switching to Central.

Incoming, Outgoing Calls, and VM do not work

Ever since VT made system updates around 11/24/2008, my service has not been working properly. I’m having issues with outgoing calls, incoming calls, and voicemail.

For outgoing calls, some phone numbers work and some do not. For incoming calls, some callers can get through and some cannot. If I dial my home phone using my cell phone I can get through, when other people call me, they get routed to voicemail.

Also, I cannot even check my voicemail. When I dial it nothing happens. However, the light blinks on my SIP phone to tease me with a message.

I would like for someone to help me resolve these issues. I would also like the authentication to the second phone line so that I could use my SIP phone (Aastra 480i CT) in conjunction with the adapter provided by Viatalk. This would at least give me a backup if you guys do another update and my SIP phone goes down.

You may ask why I would like to use my SIP phone with the VT adapter. The primary reason is because of voicemail. My SIP phone has an indicator to tell me when I have a message and the VT voicemail system allows me to get the same voicemails forwarded to my BlackBerry as an email – can’t do this with old phones. And again, as a backup when VT makes another change.

DMZ is not the answer to every problem! Voicemail down, up

The last few problems I've had, Viatalk support tells me to set the DMZ on my router for the Viatalk-provided TAD. Every problem, the answer is to set DMZ.

Yet, every problem is solved without any change on my end.

Yet, today, voicemail down, again the answer is to set DMZ.
Yet, voicemail begins working again without my assistance.

No changes were made on my end. Voicemail is now working. First message that came through was full of static. Second test message was ok.
Tech support is giving DMZ as the answer to any problem when it is not the answer. I have never set the DMZ and yet these problems somehow get fixed without my settings being changed.

11/19 I had a problem with no calls coming in or out. It fixed itself by the next day. A WEEK LATER I got a response to my ticket telling me to set up DMZ. I replied that it was working without me changing anything, and again they told me to setup DMZ. ISN'T DMZ INSECURE FOR ANY PURPOSE?

Why is this the only answer to every problem??

Incoming calls going to voicemail

I have a Linksys spa and viatalk for over a year. For some reason, all my calls are going straight to voicemail even though my status says "Registered" Any idea where to start on this one? I try to open a ticket with Viatalk but when I try to put in my ticket key and email, it says ticket doesn't exist. I give up on their support.

Thanks for any help,
Eric

Random Outbound "Touch Tones" During Call?

Any other VT users with this problem? Several times during a conversation the remote caller hears what sounds like a touch tone key press. (The home VT user does not hear the tone.)

At first I was convinced that our cordless phone must be misbehaving, with a shortcircuited or overly sensitive key being activated sporadically during calls.

But... the same thing happens when only our old corded, wired wall phone (no keys on the handset to be pushed accidentally against the cheek) is used.

Is there a gremlin in my house pushing keys, or can/does a VT line do this?
