Any way to transfer call on ViaTalk??

I need to be able to direct transfer a call from viatalk to another number during the call. You used to be able to do this just like three way calling, but now it will disconnect you. I have submitted a ticket, and have been informed that there is not a way to do this, and it will not be added due to technical constraints.

Does anyone know of a way to do this? I am open to using another adapter or voip phone if need be. It appears after extensive searching, that this feature is available on most other providers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Any way to record a call?

I know this has been requested for a long time but is there any way to record a call? I've started receiving harassing phone calls from a collections agency for something that doesn't exist and I'd like to record them.

Or can I at least record if I call them?

Should be pretty simple that if I press a certain button on the phone, it can interrupt the conversation with a recording that says "This call is now being recorded" and then go on from there.

Thanks.

Beta Lab - Did I miss something?

Just saw a change to the CP that I know wasn't there yesterday and then I checked for info in the Beta Lab. Recent entries have moved to released and a new batch is listed under beta. They are:
quote:Just Added Voicemail Notifications now available via AOL Instant Messenger.

Just Added Customizable Notification Formats let you change the text formatting on your voicemail alerts.

Just Added Blacklist by Caller ID allow you to block incoming calls by name using full or partial text matches.

Just Added Outgoing Call Routing lets you control what happens when certain numbers are dialed. Examples: Map 311 to a local number or block the kids from calling certain numbers.

Just Added Pattern Match Filters Whitelists - Use Pattern Match Filters with your Whitelist to allow groups of numbers to bypass existing filters.

SIP Broker access

Trying to find out if anyone knows if ViaTalk has an access code for SIP Broker. I know I can call using a SIP URI (i.e. 1777xxxxxxx@in.callcentric.com), but I'm looking for something that can actually be dialed (my IP Phone does not have [a-z] or @ on the dial pad).

SIPBroker.com says I can dial into VT by accessing SIP Broker and then dialing *507. Unfortunately, they do not list the access codes to get to SIP Broker from the different peers.

I searched VT's FAQ's and the only entry I find is titled how to dial numbers using SIP URI's, but it only addresses how to call into VT and nothing about dialing out. And, yes, I've searched here, but nothing about a SIP Broker access code.

sigh...call logs not working...again

my wife called me this morning asking me to block two numbers that called a total of 6 times in the past 30 minutes. neither of the numbers is appearing in the call logs, though. the last entry i have in my logs is from 7PM last night. the outbound call she made to me is not listed, either. is anyone else seeing longer than normal log latency (or non-functioning logs)?

Edit - A small aside here...my renewal is coming up, and basic things like call logs not working don't sit well. I like VT and the features that are available, but they need to work to make it worth my money.

Conference Call Quality

I'm looking for a cordless, 2-line phone that has good conference call quality. My boss continually complains about conference quality on my Panasonic KX-TG6500--5.8 GHz. He says it's very hard to hear the third party. Any recommendations?

Referral Program

I saw the link to the referral program on the new web page. It says to refer people, you do this:

Just make sure they use your referral ID when they sign up, it is that simple. You can do this in two ways, give your ID to your friends and have them enter it manually or send an email to them through the ViaTalk Referral Program page. They click the link and it automatically fills in your referral ID on the sign-up page. You get VT Points for that sign up once it is validated. Once you get the points, start spending them!

There is no link to send them an email through the referral program page that I could find.

BYOD SR ac-211-sr; close but need a little help

Hi all.
After a couple of years with Packet8 I have switched to ViaTalk. Trying to get my old Sunrocket ATA dialed in as a BYOD. I followed these instructions http://tonycode.com/wiki/index.php?title=AC-211-SR_configuration_for_ViaTalk and had a dial tone as well as the Voice light on solid green, but when I dial, I get dead air. I then tried the dial plan described at https://support.viatalk.com/index.php?_a=knowledgebase&_j=questiondetails&_i=124 (the second one which is specific to the ac-211-sr) and it made no difference.

Can anyone using this device successfully on VT check those settings and note any differences? Thanks.

It may be worth noting the ATA must sit behind the router in my configuration because my IP is VZ Fios and the connection to the router is Coax not ethernet.

Calls not hanging up properly

I have a problem with calls not hanging up properly. I have the innomedia ATA device from sunrocket.

This problem started recently. I call a number which has an automated voice response and then I hang up. When I call another number I keep getting that same voice prompt from the previous number. So, the calls are not hanging up properly. It's weird.

Does anyone know a fix for this? I would really really appreciate any help.
