VPN with group authentication - from behind a proxy.

I'm on a campus network that uses a proxy server (with username/password). My college does not block vpn.

I want to connect to a corporate network that uses group authentication with unique uname/password.

Unfortunately i cant use cisco vpn client (no proxy details) or
cisco anyconnect (does not allow group auth).

Any idea how to get around it. Any other alternate vpn client?
(IPSec etc policies must be similar for ex.!)

Cisco/Linksys WVS4000 and VPN Access via MBP OSX

Could one of you network gurus please point me in the direction of a functional client for this set up? Or possibly plain english set up for the native client or ipsecuritas. Preferably the Dummies version since everything I have found so far seems to predicate knowledge I do not seem to have.

I am trying to put my remote Macbook on the Home LAN via vpn in such a way as to allow fileshare access, remote desktop and internet access back out of LAN and I am having no luck even getting it to connect.

MBP Pro running OSX 10.5xx with a ATT 3G Wireless Express Card/Hotel network. Home IP supplied by DynDNS.

Home LAN is set for 192.168.1xx.1, Comcast is current ISP soon to be Uverse. Cable Modem is Linksys BEFCMU10 ver 4.

Very Slow VPN Speed at times

At times my VPN speed on my home network is very slow. Last night download was 845Kb/s and upload was 1198 Kb/s. Without VPN the same laptop was at download 13900 Kb/s and upload 4201 Kb/s.
In addition when I am running my laptop on VPN it throttles the speed of the other PCs on my home network. Their speed drops from 13900 Kb/s and upload 4201 Kb/s to about download 5100 Kb/s and upload 1700 Kb/s.
I have Black Ice stopped on the laptop and proxies shut off in IE.
This past weekend the VPN was running ok at about download 5100 Kb/s and upload 1700 Kb/s.
Any ideas on what may be causing these slow speeds at different times?

SnapGear SG300 Setup VPN to work with TheGeenBow

Hi

I have got a Netgear ADSL router DG834 V3 in a bridge mode (modem only), WAN port of SnapGear SG300 which is connected to a LAN port of DG834 V3 and has publich ip address x23.34x.6x.95

I have got a Laptop with a VPN clinet installed on it (TheGreen Bow = TGB) , laptop on dialup connection.

I tried to follow the instructions in the link below (because I have got same scenario except different router, document router FVS318v3 mine is SG300), out VPN scenario is not site-to-site VPN. Our client laptop has dynamic public ip address (means different IP when it moves from location to another)

http://www.scribd.com/doc/3800513/NetGear-FVS318v3-GreenBow-IPsec-VPN-Configuration

The snpashots for snapgear SG300 as below

1- Tunnel Settings
---------------------------
For the "Remote Address" textbox there are only three options (Static IP address , Dynamic IP address and DNS hostname address) we have to choose one of these three only, I chose : "Dynamic IP address" .

2- Local Endpoint Settings
-------------------------------------
http://img697.imageshack.us/i/localendpointsettings.jpg/

3- Remote Endpoint Settings
----------------------------------------

4- Phase1 Settings
--------------------------
http://img248.imageshack.us/i/phase1settings.jpg/

5- Phase2 Settings
--------------------------
http://img682.imageshack.us/i/phase2settings.jpg/

6- Finish
------------
http://img249.imageshack.us/i/finishu.jpg/

On the laptop (dialup connection) I tried to match every thing on "TheGreenBow = TGB" client to be same as the router (SA , key, ID,,,etc) but still VPN does not get established, therefore I could not find useful informations from the logs

Please see the snapshot for TheGreenBow VPN client on the laptop

VPN PPTP - speeds are extremely slow

hi all, I'm new to this forum and also to VPN but i have picked up a lot on this lately, i do how ever have a problem with file transfer speeds via VPN

---------
i have set up VPN on my vista ultimate pc, i have put the ports in the windows firewall, and set up a static ip and port forwarding on my sweex's router, also set up DDNS on my router as my internet provider changes the ip once a week or so, Makes it easier to connect than trying to get my public ip every time i need to do VPN

the client end is my iphone 3g, that does connect fine,

if i go to the BBC iplayer on my iphone via my VPN that works, (only way i could think of to get BBC iplayer to work over 3g as it is normally restricted).... i can do what ever i like on the internet via VPN and no problems with speed there.

but when using a program on my iphone (netportal), to access my shared files, they will only download to my iphone at 15 Kilobytes per sec

i have also connected to a FTP server from my iphone via VPN and get about 90 Kilobytes per sec down... which is about right for my internet speed.

I'm on Virgin media 20mb
2486 Kilobytes down
92.5 Kilobytes up (not Kilobits)

does anyone have any idea whats going wrong with this....
i hope i have gave enough info, but if not, just ask

thank you all

Cisco VPN client + wireless, could not get campus ip?

My situation is that being off-campus, I need a painless way to access the journal database through the university library, plus ESPN360 (yeah, twc is my isp).

The university has vpn service and suggest us to use cisco VPN client. On the IT support website, it sounds like a piece of cake, you just install the software, configure the campus connection entry and use the campus id to log in. However, I could not get it work at all.

I'm using a laptop (win 7) wirelessly connected through a linksys router (wrtp54g) with DHCP. The router has been configured to passthrough ipsec and pptp. Firewall is enabled in the router too. In the computer, I have Kaspersky internet security installed.

The VPN connection configuration suggested in our ITS site is pretty simple, besides the standard server name and username etc, it enables the transparent tunneling with Ipsec over UDP chosen. The Allow local LAN access is unchecked.

After such configuration, I could successfully establish a connection to the campus vpn server, no error message at all. However, my ip was still recognized as the one from my isp, not the campus ip. When trying to access the university library, I was still asked to input the campus id to log in, and the espn360 still saw me as from non-affiliated isp. I checked the internet connections in windows, found "local connection 4" to be the cisco VPN and a connected "wireless connection". If I click the cisco connection's property, it showed "ipv4 connection --no internet acess; ipv6 connection-no internet access" but in the bottom I could still see the sending/receiving data packages. In the wireless connection property, it showed "ipv4 connection- internet".

It looks like the vpn connection was established, I could see the assigned campus ip within the statstics page in cisco software, but all my internet traffic was routed through my wireless connection from local isp. Could anyone help me with this issue?

Thanks a lot.

BTW, my cisco vpn client is v5.0.04.0300.
