[HDMI] Sharp Aquos LC-46E77UN and HDMI issues...Help!!

I just took the TV out of the box. I plugged three HDMI cables (two Hi-Speed and one std HDMI cables from three different manufacturers). The picture reminds you of a scrambled channel with a green hue. I have unplugged both DVR (72xx) and TV to reset handshake. The DVR is set to 1080i. I tried all five HDMI ports. Non-HD channels come in fine. All HD channels have this issue including locals. I need help fast!! TIA

[HDMI] New HDMI issue

I just got an Asus VH198T led-backlit monitor that planned to use in the kitchen as a tv, as it has dvi in and is hdcp capable. This is a brand-new model from Asus. The picture is gorgeous, and I love the 10w power usage. BUT, when I connect to the Motorola 6416 box via an HDMI/DVI cable I get a picture that alternates about once a second between the video and all snow. I spoke to Fios, and they never heard of this. I used the same cable with a Gateway FPD2485W monitor (about 3 years old) and it worked fine. Also, I can use component to a convertor to get DVI and that works, altho the picture isn't as sharp. Evidently the HDMI port has a problem, or there is an HDCP conflict. Anyone else seen this problem?

Internet access from TV

Hi all,

I just got the 3rd leg of triple play installed here. We have had Fios internet from years and been very happy with it. We have a brand new HD TV to boot, a 40" Sony. Now my wife has gotten it into her head that she wants Internet access from the TV and according to the manual it should be possible. Since both the TV and the Fios settop box have an Ethernet connector she connected them with a cable and lo and behold now the TV has an IP address 169. something which is not the same subnet as the settop box, which of course is 192.168.1.something. There was no suggestion for what to enter for the default gateway and nothing that I tried would work. Any suggestions?

Is Verizon cherry picking?

It sure is starting to look like it in Washington County, PA. Why would Verizon stop FiOS at the McMurray CO and not continue on to the Canonsburg and Washington, PA COs? While I cant's blame Verizon for serving affluent Peters Township out of McMurray, the three COs together serve the most populous area (and not a bad average income level) of Washington County. Washington County is also one of only two counties in the Pittsburgh area that are actually growing and there's new construction going on around here all the time so where is Verizon?

Setup of verizon and mediacenter Hauppauge 2250 no cablecard

I have been just fine using comcast and my hauppauge 2250 setup on my WIN7 PC, I moved this past weekend and had to go with Verizon, only service in the area. Well the cable guy just set me up, but I cannot get it to work with my computer

When I run setup it says that there are no channels detected, this is straight from the wall to the computer no cable box. This happens with auto setup or if I manually select the two digital tuners and the two analog tuners.

If Itry to use the box which I dont want to, it says I need an IR reciever, Idont have one of course.

Questions will verizon work without there box using the cable straight from the wall to the computer, if so what am I doing wrong?

If I need to use the box then I guess I need an IR reciever or is there a way around this, if there is no way around it and I need the reciever, do I just go to frys and buy a IR reciever and plug it into the computer?

I read a post that made it sound like I had to plug the reciver into the cable box but that doesnt make sense to me.

Any help is appreciated the family has been without TV for a week now :)

Honest comparison between cable and FiOS

I've been holding out turning on my FiOS TV Service until Verizon comes out with a larger capacity DVR, but my HD picture quality on TWC has deteriorated to the point I may no longer be able to wait. Could someone that has switched from cable give me an honest comparison between the two? I'm most interested in SD picture quality, and any macroblocking issues on HD. Thanks

[HD] DirecTv 200 HD's?!

Ever notice how DirecTv never gives a date as to when they will have 200 HD's on their network? Are there even 200 HD channels out there? Some of the less than stellar HD content VZ has added recently would lead me to believe that we are already stretching the envelope. Is it possible the commercial says 'capable of handling 200 HD's'? Any feedback would be appreciated...

[TIVO] TiVo and FiOS

I hope I am posting in the right place, and I am new here.

Based on other posts I decided to buy a couple of NIM100's to connect my TiVo's instead of going wireless.

However, my setup has a complication that stops me in my tracks:

My configuration is ONT->(coax)Actiontec->(wan)Netgear->TiVos

The Actiontec gets the internet IP, NATs to 192.168.1.1, gives DHCP to the Netgear, which NATs again to 192.168.0.1.

All my TiVo's and PC's are on the 0.1 subnet managed on the Netgear.

The problem is when I connect the NIM100 to coax, it gets DHCP from the Actiontec and is on the 1.1 subnet; which is fine for internet, but it does not see the other TiVo's in the house.

I tried making the Actiontec a bridge and only allowing the Netgear to DHCP, but that doesn't seem to work through the NIM100; it can't get an IP.

I believe that if I scrap the Netgear and put everything on the Actiontec that would solve the problem, but I really would like to continue using my Netgear. Does anyone see how this configuration could work?

Thanks in advance...
