I was surfing the web and the fourth largest virus company (AVG) notified me that hostrocket's web site has risk category: "exploit server" and 'Dangerous: this Page contains active threats".

I have attached a view, the red X is a warning not to go to this web page.

iWeb.ca - $1.67/month Hosting [Are they okay to use?]

http://iweb.com/web-hosting/

I've been on Dreamhost and not a huge amount of complaints but currently I'm on their promo that's $10 for the year. So when this is up, either I stay with them and pay $214 for 2 years, or for $200 I can get 10 years from iweb.ca.

Obviously, I'd like to know what's people stand on iWeb.ca first. From what I know, and what it says on their site, they've been around for a while and they're Canadian :) Problem is there aren't any speedtests on their site to actually test anything. So if anyone knows anything about their hosting services, I'd love to hear it.

So I am about to become the least popular man here...

Because of what I'm about to ask.

I work for a software company who is..ermm...trying to grow. And part of that is emailing prospective clients with newsletters and white papers et al.

Now, when our Business Development department (yeah, that's the official title of it, they're stretching I'm sure...) decides it's time for another round, my life as a network admin goes to hell due to blacklisting, not enough bandwidth to send 2000x500KB attachments, etc.

What I need from you is to get some recommendations on how to solve this problem. A great solution would also include a backup MX service.

TIA.

Blog hosting with my own domain

Hi,

I'd like to setup a blog with my own domain Eg: www.myname.com, but would like to use some other free hosting service to host it all. Is this possible?

There are places that do it for free, but that means you get something like //myname.blogger.com Can I have www.myname.com and still have my blog hosted for free?

Thanks

ASP on Linux Host?

I'm trying to help out a family friend with moving his website from his current hosting company to another.

I'm trying to move him over to Bluehost.com which runs linux servers & his website is all .ASP I put his site on my server just for testing before i make an account for him but when I go to his website it would only show the files in the directory and not the site.

http://www.MaximumRepair.ca/sk

Any idea if its possible to get this site to work on a linux server (bluehost.com) I'm currently talking to their Live tech support but they are useless telling me to add the .html files to the directory

THanks

Spiked Hosting Review

Hi Everybody!

I recentlly took advantage of Two Man Gang's offer to use some of his space and bandwith on his dedicated server.

I'm using it for hosting my podcasts and such and its been great zero downtime bandwith is good. Two Man Gang and I worked out a deal and I paid him up front for a year and it was very reasnable amount.

I'm setup with 4GB of space and 10GB of bandwidth and its changeable down the road if need be which is great.

I've ran into zero problems except when I accidentlly locked myself out of my account he was quick to get in touch.

All it really is a Cpanel V10 setup with some space and bandwith given to me nothing speical but I'm not doing anything exciting so it works great.

Two Man Gang was nice enough to let me test drive the account for a week and be able to take my word on payment then forcing me to pay up or get shut down.

Personally I'd recommend him if your looking for a no frills webhost who just offers what they say, he doesn't say your're getting 200000000TB of space and bandwith it's clear and realistic numbers.

Thanks Spiked Hosting.
