twisted pair

The most clearly described piece of technology around! take a look at a phone line and you will see that it is simply two single core copper wires that are twisted round each other.. there is no shielding, and the copper may date back to the 50s, hence the difficulty designing standards and equipment that will work reliably on such a variable quality pathway.
