WinPoet is the most common default PPPoE software. There are two versions.. 1.x and 2.0. The 2.0 version is compatible with windows 2000. Winpoet used to be available for download at the IVasion site, but it is no longer there (their FTP site is empty!). IVasion wish winpoet to be branded and distributed from your ISP.

Product: PPPoE for Windows freeware (website) by Robert Schlabbach
Notes and Issues:
Read the docs on an MTU change recommended for PPPoE
Works with Windows 2000 and ICS/98/98SE
    Just 100kb
User experiences: Read [8709]
This 100kb "stack" is *just* a protocol stack, no extra icons or anything fancy (thats GOOD by the way). Designed for Windows 2000, it works with dual processor machines, and with Windows ICS - AND NOW Windows 98!. Robert has provided excellent documentation that explains not just the pitfalls involved in adding and deleting components from windows networking, but why they occur (mostly, it would seem, windows 2000 bugs). RECOMMENDED.

Solaris users are in for a real battle to find and implement a PPPoE driver, but it seems this is work to patch PPPD (the existing PPP Daemon) to support PPP over Anything (Ethernet, ATM etc).
