My Avatar is a mythical Phoenix rising from the flames. Legend has it that this legendary Immortal Bird of Fire, would consume itself in it's flames every 3,000-5,000 years and rise anew from it's ashes. The Phoenix was a noble creature that was blessed by the gods, and would protect the innocent and honourable, and possesed great powers and wisdom. Very symbolic of how I try to live my life. No matter what happens in life and you get burned, rise right back up and keep going, and try to help others along the way!

Why did I join?

I firmly beleive that there is life out there in the cosmos, and since I find that [DSLR] feels like family, what better way to continue my interest in this than to do it here, at one of the best sites on the web. If you're really into this stuff, I suggest reading "Contact" by Carl Sagan. Yes I know it was made into a movie with Jodie Foster, but the book goes into so much scientific detail that the movie edited out.
