Using the Winsock fix diskette on Windows 98 and Millenium
These instructions are intended for Windows 98 and Windows Millennium only.
You will need to uninstall "Dial-Up Networking" before using the disk.
To uninstall "Dial-Up Networking":
- Make sure that you have the customer's Operating System CD or there is a copy on the hard drive.
- Go to Start
® Settings ® Control Panel ® Add/Remove Programs.
Select the "Windows Setup" Tab

Highlight "Communications" in the box under "Components" and click "Details"
Clear the checkbox next to "Dial-Up Networking" and click "OK"

Click "OK" on the original "Add/Remove Programs Properties" window and restart the computer when prompted.
After uninstalling "Dial-Up Networking", insert the Winsock Fix Disk and follow these steps:
- Go to the "\Applications\Winsock Fix" directory on the ASI technician CD.
- Double click the RepWinsock.bat file
- The program will ask if Dial-Up Networking has been uninstalled. Press "Y"
- It will then perform the following steps:
- Back up the registry to a file named ASIWinsock.reg on the root directory of the hard drive.
- Delete the registry keys per the Winsock Repair document written by Alan Harrison
- Delete the winsock.dll file in the windows directory
- The program will prompt you to reinstall Dial-Up Networking.
- Press the space bar to continue and close the Dos window.
Use the same steps to reinstall Dial-Up Networking as you did to uninstall it except you will need to place a check in the box next to "Dial-Up Networking" in step 5.

Reboot the PC and reinstall the Enternet 300 software.
