About ICDC Wireless LLC ..

ICDC Wireless Broadband is the alternative high speed access technology in the local area which uses radio frequencies (RF) to connect to the Internet. The advantage of wireless broadband is that it can be rapidly deployed, is highly scalable and is cost effective in comparison to other services. It's so reliable that the Delaware County, PA 911 call center uses it!! Not even the January and February 2003 snow storms could interrupt it or slow it down!

The ICDC Wireless Broadband system is a faster service than dial-up, ISDN, DSL, MMDS, cable, satellite, or T1. The ICDC Wireless Solution provides access speeds from 128k to up to 6.2 Mbps! You can start out at the lowest service level and then have your bandwidth increased in about 90 seconds with a single phone call.

The ICDC Wireless system operates in the 5Ghz-Unlicensed National Information Infrastructure band, commonly called the U-NII band. The DSP (Digital Signal Processing) technology used for this fixed-wireless solution was formerly used by the US military and recently opened up for commercial use.

The equipment that is installed is a small subscriber module (11" x 3" x 1") that weighs less than a pound and transmits at less than 1 watt of radio power. It is usually mounted on the outside of the building facing the nearest service tower in your area. If your location is within 2 miles, only the SM unit is mounted. If your location is between 2 and 15 miles, a small 18" reflector dish is added to the SM unit to cover the greater distance. An RJ45 cable runs between the SM unit outside and your computer, switch, or router within your building. Both power (power of Ethernet - POE) and data run through the cable so no separate power cable is necessary to power the SM unit. If your business is small, we provide a small, inexpensive, entry level combination router/firewall/switch unit that allows all of your computers to share the high speed service.
